Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. seeks a Quality Engineer to monitor and improve the quality of operational processes and outputs. You will design quality standards, develop quality control systems and determine corrective actions across processes, materials, and products.

You will liaise with internal staff, suppliers, and customers on quality issues. Responsibilities include conducting analyses, performing SPC, reviewing vendor quality, and preparing QA reports.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of manufacturing and quality systems; aerospace preferred.
  • Typically 1–3 years of experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and conducts analysis, inspection, design, test, and integration to assure product quality.
  • Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with requirements.
  • Applies statistical process control (SPC) for data analysis and process improvement.
  • Reviews purchased products to decide acceptance for future purchases.
  • Documents data from QA activities and follows company policies.
  • Develops new approaches to solve QA problems.
  • Communicates issues and recommends process improvements to management.
  • Prepares reports on QA activities and results for team and management.
  • Directs technical and administrative staff engaged in QA activities.
  • Maintains knowledge of government and industry QA codes and standards.
  • Conducts internal audits to identify improvement areas.
  • Develops training documentation for processes per customer requirements.
