Job summary

Responsibilities

• Participate in gage R&R studies and other metrology activities.

About the Opportunity:

As a Quality Engineer I, you will provide support to operational and development programs to enable and deliver zero defect projects utilizing engineering and problem‑solving skills. This role also supports the development and implementation of quality processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. As Quality Engineer I you will also assist with inspections, testing, non‑conformance management, and documentation.

Stuart, FL - Onsite.

Responsibilities:

• Support writing procedure, collecting and analyzing data.
• Review customer purchase orders, specifications, and engineering drawings to ensure quality requirements are understood and properly implemented.
• Assist with First Article Inspections (FAI) and support manufacturing work instructions and quality plans.
• Support in implementing and maintaining the quality management system. (AS9100, AS13100, NADCAP)
• Support the inspection and testing of raw materials, in‑process materials, and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Support MRB activities including the disposition of nonconforming material.
• Utilize Quality Engineering tools like PFMEA, Measurement System Analysis, and Control Plans to monitor and improve internal processes.
• Participate in gage R&R studies and other measurement system analysis activities.
• Work with cross‑functional teams to identify the root causes of quality issues and assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Assist in evaluating supplier performance and quality, supporting supplier audits, and assisting with the development of quality improvement plans.
• Provide flowdown of quality requirements to suppliers and purchasing.
• Work closely with production, engineering, and other departments to resolve quality issues and improve overall product quality.
• Participate in continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system, such as 5S, Kaizen, LEAN, etc.
• Support the Quality Inspectors to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system and customer requirements.
• Assist in developing inspection standards and methods and provide technical support to inspection and production teams.
• Create and maintain company quality documentation, such as quality manuals, quality procedures, etc.
• Review travelers/routers for material requirements, special processes, and manufacturability considerations.
• Participate in causeandcorrectiveaction activities.
• Support supplier and customer quality communication on product or process concern

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering, Material Science or Metallurgy - OR - in lieu of degree, at least 4 years of aerospace quality engineering experience.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full‑time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full‑time basis.
• Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of quality engineering experience
• Aerospace experience.
• Understanding of quality principles and methodologies.
• Experience and training in quality systems including AS9100 and NADCAP
• Proficiency in quality management systems, process validation, and customer specifications.
• Experience working with CAD, QMS and ERP software.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills with the ability to guide junior team members effectively.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate across teams and with customers.

Working Conditions

• Must be able to have prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
• Personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses and safety shoes) is required on the shop floor
• Occasional weekend and evening work may be required to accommodate priorities, deadlines, and schedules.
