Job summary

RTX is seeking a Quality Engineer to deploy strategic quality initiatives across Aerostructures sites. The role focuses on cross-functional collaboration to meet quality and delivery goals, with a hybrid setup in Riverside, CA or nearby locations.

You will lead deployment of quality processes, support PPAP/APQP, and maintain essential documentation while traveling up to 20%. Strong aerospace quality experience and regulatory knowledge are required.

This position is responsible for deploying strategic quality initiatives across the sites within the Aerostructures Business Unit. This individual must be able to work within and influence cross-functional teams to meet and improve upon established quality and delivery goals. This position operates in the following functional areas: Quality Assurance, Quality System Validation, Supply Chain Quality Assurance, or Material Verification.

This Quality Engineer is responsible for deploying strategic quality initiatives across the sites within the Aerostructures Business Unit. This individual must be able to work within and influence cross-functional teams to meet and improve upon established quality and delivery goals. Ideally, this hybrid role will be based in Riverside, CA or another Aerostructures location, but other U.S. Collins sites may be considered.

What You Will Do
  • Support Site Quality Leaders in coordinating and implementing standard practices for process improvement and assist in maintaining consistency across sites.
  • Assist with the deployment of updated quality processes, including helping teams understand requirements, completing assigned tasks, and providing basic training.
  • Provide support to production sites by helping investigate problems and assisting in implementing corrective actions defined by site or central quality leaders.
  • Support production sites with the use of PPAP core tools by providing guidance and helping prepare documentation needed for future APQP requirements.
  • Effectively communicate and maintain working relationships with cross‑functional teams, business units, and internal and external customers to support quality‑related activities.
  • Maintain records, gather information, compile data, and prepare routine reports for internal and external use.
  • Perform tasks and maintain documentation required by the Quality Management System, following established procedures and direction from Quality leadership.
  • Travel up to 20%.
Qualifications

You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.
  • Applied experience with aerospace quality standards, problem‑solving methods, and continuous‑improvement principles in a production or multi‑site environment.

We Prefer:

  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory and compliance frameworks such as AS9100, As9110, AS9145, EASA and FAA.
  • Familiar with problem solving techniques like DIVE, DAISE, 8D and RCCA.
  • Experience in quality management or evaluation (e.g., Lean Six Sigma, PMP, CQIA, or equivalent).
  • Experience working in international or multi‑site organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage complex projects with proven analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.

The salary range for this role is 118,300 USD - 224,900 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
