Job summary

Harold Beck & Sons Inc. in Newtown, PA seeks a Quality Engineer to develop and improve inspection processes for machined components and electro-mechanical assemblies.

You will work with manufacturing, engineering, and supplier quality to resolve issues using GD&T, CMM programming, and fixture design. The role requires 5+ years in production manufacturing, strong GD&T knowledge, and experience with SolidWorks fixtures and PC-DMIS.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a production manufacturing environment.
• Strong working knowledge of GD&T and inspection methodologies.
• Experience designing inspection fixtures using SolidWorks or equivalent 3D modeling software.
• Experience developing CMM programs using PC-DMIS preferred.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing and SPC preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office to create documentation, spreadsheets, and databases.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain effective inspection processes to support QA with machined components and electro-mechanical assemblies.
• Keep inspection processes current and optimized.
• Review new product designs for inspection requirements.
• Troubleshoot inspection issues promptly and effectively.
• Assist engineering with testing and evaluation of new designs.
• Provide technical support to outside suppliers as required.
• Generate inspection programs for CMMs.
• Research cost/benefit analyses for capital equipment.
• Monitor emerging QA technologies and evaluate their fit for Beck.
• Interact with other departments and suppliers to support operations.
