Job summary

Michael Page partners with a leading electronics manufacturer in Romeoville to hire a Quality Engineer focused on reducing defects and improving processes. You will lead initiatives, use 8D/5 Why and PFMEA, and drive containment and corrective actions.

The role requires 1+ year in manufacturing quality; ISO standards familiarity; strong analytical skills; excellent communication; proficiency in Excel and SPC knowledge; salary range $70,000-$90,000 with benefits.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in a manufacturing quality environment.
• Experience with customer quality requirements and corrective actions.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001 or similar quality systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead quality improvement initiatives to reduce scrap, defects, and costs.
• Investigate quality issues using structured problem solving (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone).
• Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Support customer quality requirements and containment activities.
• Create, maintain quality documentation (Control Plans, PFMEAs, PPAP).
• Perform process capability studies and SPC; create control charts and Pareto analysis.
• Support new product launches and process validations.
• Participate in audits and ensure QMS compliance.
