Job summary

Surge seeks an experienced Quality Engineer to support product quality and manufacturing processes. This role ensures products and processes meet company, customer, and regulatory quality requirements.

You will work closely with production, engineering, suppliers, and customers to identify and resolve quality issues, improve processes, reduce defects, and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in Quality Engineering or related fields
• Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS)
• Experience with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or AS9100 is a plus
• Experience with RCA and CAPA
• Familiarity with 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone/Ishikawa, FMEA, SPC, and Pareto analysis
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and specifications
• Experience with inspection and measurement tools
• Strong Excel and quality software skills

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain quality standards, procedures, and control plans
• Monitor manufacturing processes and product quality to ensure specifications are met
• Investigate defects, complaints, and issues using root cause analysis
• Lead corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and verify effectiveness
• Utilize quality tools (8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa, FMEA, SPC)
• Maintain PFMEA, Control Plans, work instructions, and inspection standards
• Support APQP, PPAP, MSA, and capability studies for products
• Analyze quality data and identify trends for continuous improvement
• Collaborate with production to reduce scrap and rework
• Conduct internal, supplier, and process audits
• Train employees on quality procedures and standards
• Maintain quality documentation and records
• Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001 and customer requirements
• Collaborate with production, engineering, suppliers, and management
