Job summary

Amerex in Trussville, AL, is seeking a Quality Engineer to join our Manufacturing and Quality Lab teams. You will analyze production data, lead root-cause investigations, and drive improvements to prevent recurrence while supporting PPAP and NPI efforts.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Engineering, 0–5 years in industry, and proficiency with Power BI, D365, and quality tools (FMEA, DMAIC, 8D, 5-Why). On-site position with potential overtime in fast-paced fabrication environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or related technical field (Required).
• Zero to five years of career experience in industrial manufacturing or quality.
• Proficient in quality methods: FMEA, SPC, PPAP, DMAIC, 8D, 5-Why (Preferred).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with D365 or ERP systems (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Conduct root cause analysis of component failures and quality issues on the manufacturing floor.
• Analyze historical production and quality data to identify cost savings and defect reduction.
• Direct the work of the Quality Lab in absence of the Quality Manager.
• Lead departmental Continuous Improvement / Lean Manufacturing projects.
• Support PPAP processes and implement corrective actions for customer issues.
• Coordinate quality audits and 3rd party certification activities.
• Prepare quality performance reports and KPIs for management review.
• Drive preventive actions to reduce Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ).
