Valeo North America is seeking a Quality Engineer Co‑Op for Summer 2027 in Hamilton, Ohio. This role offers hands‑on experience supporting quality engineering activities within automotive manufacturing and collaboration with Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Production teams.

The Co‑Op focuses on defect reduction, process improvement, and applying automotive quality tools such as FMEA, SPC, Control Plans, MSA, and 8D to real projects.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Strong academic performance with analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong written and verbal communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with guidance from engineers.
  • Interest in automotive manufacturing, quality assurance and process improvement.
  • Previous internship, co-op, or project experience in manufacturing or engineering is preferred.
  • Must be available to work full‑time during Summer 2027 Co‑Op semester.

Responsibilities

  • Support development, implementation, and maintenance of quality control plans, work instructions, and quality procedures.
  • Assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions using 8D methodologies.
  • Support product and process validation through testing, data collection and analysis.
  • Collect, analyze, and report quality performance data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Assist with supplier quality activities including audits and corrective action follow-up.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Production, and cross‑functional teams to improve process capability and product quality.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects focused on defect reduction and process optimization.
  • Assist in preparing quality reports, presentations, and technical documentation.
  • Learns and applies automotive quality tools and methodologies (FMEA, SPC, Control Plans, MSA, 8D).
