Job summary

Entegris in San Luis Obispo, CA is seeking a Quality Engineer Co-Op for the Spring 2027 season. The 6‑month, full-time assignment supports MRB, CAPA, data analysis, and process improvements on the manufacturing floor.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a technical BS degree with strong analytical skills and familiarity with quality systems. Exposure to Lean/Six Sigma and cross-functional teams is preferred. Sponsorship is not provided for this role.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a BS degree in a technical field and available for a full-time 6-month co-op.
• Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Ability to analyze data and communicate findings in written and verbal form.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or quality improvement methods is preferred.
• Ability to work cross-functionally in a manufacturing environment.
• Previous internship, co-op, lab, or manufacturing experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of quality systems, root cause analysis, ISO 9001, or semiconductor manufacturing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support MRB, nonconformance, and CAPA investigations.
• Analyze quality and manufacturing data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Assist with process improvement projects to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
• Develop and update quality procedures, work instructions, and documentation.
• Create and maintain quality metrics, dashboards, and management reports.
• Participate in internal audits and quality system compliance activities.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to resolve quality issues.
• Support process validation, risk assessments, and engineering change activities.
• Present findings and recommendations for continuous improvement projects.
