Job summary

NSK is seeking a Quality Engineer to maintain and improve the Automotive Quality Assurance System, developing and revising standards, and training staff on implementation.

The role emphasizes adherence to AIAG, IATF/ISO standards, audits, document control, PPAP reviews, APQP participation, and change management to ensure customer-specified quality requirements are met.

Qualifications

• Develop and maintain NSK Automotive Quality Assurance System.
• Create and revise Quality Standards and Systems with internal/external references.
• Provide training on implementation of standards.

Responsibilities

• Review customer and NSKA QA expectations and communicate with other departments.
• Understand and support customer, AIAG, IATF/ISO requirements for compliance.
• Support internal and external IATF/ISO audits and assessments.
• Oversee NSK document control system and corrective action process.
• Review PPAPs and supplier documentation prior to approval.
• Participate in APQP for new programs and changes.
• Maintain Change management for product quality and customer requirements.
• Conduct supplier audits and follow up on corrective actions.
• Monitor supply base using NSK database and communicate NSK expectations.
• Review and update quality policies and procedures as required.

Purpose of Job

Quality Engineer acts as a resource in maintaining and improving the NSK's Automotive Quality Assurance System. Responsible to develop new and/or revise existing Quality Systems and Standards, in conjunction with established internal and external standards. Develop and provide training for the implementation of these standards.

Activities and Responsibilities

• Reviews Customer and NSKA provided QA expectations and provides communication to the other departments as required.


• Understands and supports the customer requirements, AIAG requirements, and IATF/ISO requirements to assure NSK is in compliance with all applicable standards.


• Supports internal and external IATF/ISO audits and special assessments when applicable to the site.


• Oversees and provides guidance on NSK document control system and corrective action process.


• Reviews contents of PPAP's and other supplier documentation prior to approval.


• Participates in APQP for all new programs and engineering changes.


• Maintains Change management associated with the Quality of the products produced and the requirements set forth by the Customers.


• Conducts supplier audits as well as performs follow-up for corrective actions.


• Monitors Supply base utilizing NSK's database and ensuring NSK's expectations are understood.


• Reviews and updates quality expectations, policies, and procedures as required for NSK departments.


• Supports other aspects of Quality assurance including Part Quality, Process Quality, and Systems Quality where needed.
