Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Quality Engineer to join a leading automotive manufacturer on the off shift (2nd or 3rd). The role offers a competitive base salary ranging from $80,000 to $105,000 per year and opportunities to drive quality improvements across production, engineering, and suppliers.

Responsibilities include leading root cause analyses (8D, Fishbone, 5 Why), completing PPAPs, PFMEAs and control plans, monitoring SPC and GD&T, conducting supplier audits, and mentoring technicians while

Qualifications

  • 2+ years Automotive Quality Engineering experience.
  • Experience with PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC and automotive tooling.
  • Experience working with customers and suppliers.

  • Support customer and supplier quality activities across manufacturing.
  • Lead root cause analyses (8D, Fishbone, 5 Why).
  • Complete PPAPs, PFMEAs, Control Plans and other Automotive Core Tools documentation.
  • Monitor SPC and process capability.
  • Interpret drawings and GD&T.
  • Perform inspections with CMMs and optical comparators.
  • Conduct supplier audits and support scorecards.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Production to reduce defects.
  • Support new product launches and APQP activities.

They are seeking a Quality Engineer to join their growing team and play a critical role in maintaining world-class quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.

This is a highly visible position that works closely with Production, Engineering, Customers, and Suppliers to ensure products consistently meet customer expectations while driving continuous quality improvements. The ideal candidate enjoys solving manufacturing quality issues, working directly with customers, and implementing long-term corrective actions rather than simply reacting to problems.

Job Details
Responsibilities
  • Support customer and supplier quality activities throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis using methodologies such as 8D, Fishbone, and 5 Why.
  • Complete PPAPs, PFMEAs, Control Plans, and other Automotive Core Tools documentation.
  • Monitor Statistical Process Control (SPC) and process capability.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T requirements.
  • Perform mechanical inspections utilizing CMMs, optical comparators, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
  • Conduct supplier audits and support customer scorecards.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Production to improve manufacturing quality and reduce defects.
  • Support new product launches and APQP activities.
  • Help mentor Quality Inspectors and Technicians while serving as a technical resource across the plant.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of Automotive Quality Engineering experience
  • Experience within automotive manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, and other Automotive Core Tools
  • Experience working directly with customers and suppliers
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and GD&T
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred Experience
  • Plastic or rubber manufacturing
  • Injection molding
  • Automotive sealing systems
  • CMM and Optical Comparator experience
  • IATF 16949
  • ASTM Standards
  • APQP
