Job summary

AUTOKINITON's Plymouth facility in Plymouth, MI is seeking a Quality Supervisor to lead inspectors and testers of assemblies, components, and parts. You will apply QA standards, determine inspection methods, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

The role reports to the Quality Manager, requires a Bachelor's in Manufacturing, Quality Engineering or Industrial Technology, at least five years in Quality and two years in management, and strong English communication, mentoring, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Quality Engineering or Industrial Technology preferred.
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Quality and two (2) years management experience.
• Ability to read and write in English and perform mathematical calculations.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and coordinates activities of workers in inspecting/testing assemblies, components, and parts.
• Reviews QA instructions, specifications, and production schedules to plan inspection methods.
• Directs workers to ensure standards and regulatory requirements are met.
• Reviews reports and collaborates with QA, production, management, and engineering to solve issues.
• Provides performance feedback, mentoring, coaching, and corrective action for team.
• Assists in root cause analysis, containment, and corrective actions.
• Produces and reports on Quality documentation and data.
• Performs quality review of assemblies per fixtures and dimensional buy-off.
• Collaborates with Quality Engineers on data review and corrections.

Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in inspecting and testing assemblies, components, and parts, applying knowledge of quality assurance standards and procedures.

• Reviews quality assurance instructions, assembly specifications, and production schedules to determine method of conducting inspections and tests, sequence of operations, and work assignments.
• Directs workers in quality assurance inspection and testing, to assure that establishment and regulatory standards are met.
• Reviews reports and confers with quality assurance, production, management, and engineering personnel to solve work-related problems.
• Responsible for performance feedback and leadership of all direct reports including mentoring, coaching, counseling, and corrective action when situations dictate.
• Assist in root cause, containment, and corrective actions.
• Ability to produce and report on Quality documentation.
• Quality review of assemblies per check fixture and buy-off dimensionally.
• Work with Quality Engineers on CMM data review and assessment of corrections needed.
• Review Sort data/product for release.
• Audit launch shipments for correct labels/ tagging.
• Documenting quality issues and communicating with team.

This is a Full-Time, salary role is a part of our Autokiniton – Plymouth team and reports to the Quality Manager.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in applied science in Manufacturing, Quality Engineering or Industrial Technology preferred.

• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Quality and two (2) years management experience.

• Knowledge of manufacturing, stamping, and/or assembly processes as required for the position.
• Possess knowledge of plant department functions and interacts to facilitate overall plant synergy.
