Job summary

IMS Gear is hiring a Quality Engineer at our Virginia Beach, VA facility. You will manage new product programs through APQP/IATF 16949, lead quality initiatives, and serve as the primary customer contact to ensure smooth launches and sustained quality.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred; an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience will be considered.
Minimum of five years of related manufacturing experience.
Proficient in MS Office; experience with GD&T, CAQ (Control Plan), IGI (Incoming Goods Inspection), and CAQ-QMIS.

Responsibilities

Primary point of communication with customers and represents IMS Gear professionally.
Lead customer technical contacts and drive program updates.
Develop new product applications with customer development teams.
Create interfaces between APQP, manufacturing resources and processes.
Ensure product launches and production through APQP and IATF 16949.
Coordinate with IMS teams in Germany, USA and Mexico to meet requirements.
Identify and implement improvements to manufacturing and quality processes.
Lead APQP, internal/external quality control and problem-solving activities.
Ensure conformance with the IMS Quality System in production activities.
