Job summary

Advanced Structural Technologies (AST) in Oxnard, CA, seeks a Quality Engineer to ensure manufactured components meet specs and customer expectations. You will perform inspections, analyze data, and drive Continuous Improvement across the shop, forge, and spin departments.

The role emphasizes RCCA, MRB, and QMS compliance, with experience in laser scanning and PolyWorks highly desirable. Collaborative cross-functional teamwork and a focus on reducing scrap are core to the position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field required.
• 3+ years of experience in Quality Engineering in aerospace/regulated manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of drawings, GD&T, and inspection methodologies.
• Experience with precision measurement tools and PolyWorks preferred.
• Proficiency in root cause analysis (8D, 5 Whys) and corrective actions.
• Familiarity with AS9100/ISO 9001 and quality systems.

Responsibilities

• Inspect components with precision instruments and laser scanners.
• Interpret drawings, GD&T, and blueprints to validate conformance.
• Lead 3D inspections and RCCA processes to prevent recurrence.
• Support MRB disposition and QMS compliance.
• Develop inspection plans and lead First Article Inspections per AS9102.
• Drive CI to reduce scrap and improve first-pass yield.
• Track KPIs and report QMS performance to leadership.
