Job summary

Kelco Industries is seeking a Quality Engineer to lead quality initiatives, develop and maintain quality standards, and support manufacturing efficiency. You will partner with production and engineering to identify opportunities for process improvement, reduce defects, and ensure conformance to customer specifications.

Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience, with preferred background in manufacturing quality environments and proficiency in quality tools and SPC

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or 5+ years related experience preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing/quality environment preferred.
  • Working knowledge of quality tools and methodologies, including root cause analysis, corrective actions, and statistical process control.

  • Investigate quality concerns and lead or support root cause analyses and corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

  • Document inspection results, findings, nonconformances, and corrective actions in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure products adhere to Kelco and industry quality standards as well as customer specifications and requirements.

Job Description

Responsible for the generation of quality and continuous improvement initiatives to improve manufacturing processes, product quality, and operational efficiency. Duties include developing, maintaining, and improving Kelco’s quality standards and testing systems to reflect efficiency, reliability, and performance. Also responsible for investigation, documentation, and resolution of production and quality issues, including root cause analysis and corrective actions to prevent recurrence. This role partners with production and engineering teams to identify opportunities for process improvement, reduce defects, and support our overall manufacturing performance.



Essential Functions


  • Support a safe work environment and follow Kelco safety policies and procedures.

  • Serve as an APQP team member and support the development and maintenance of Control Plans, PFMEA, Process Flow Diagrams, Floor Layout, Capability Studies, Gage R&R, SPC, IMDS, and Dimensional Layouts.

  • Implement and maintain quality systems and procedures to ensure conformity, consistency, compliance, and accuracy in the production process.

  • Develop, maintain, and update First Article Inspections (FAIs) and associated quality documentation.

  • Develop and implement inspection methods and testing procedures to evaluate product quality and conformance.

  • Ensure products adhere to Kelco and industry quality standards as well as customer specifications and requirements.

  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and relevant teams and departments to evaluate and improve product quality and manufacturing processes.

  • Investigate quality concerns and lead or support both root cause analysis and corrective actions to resolve identified issues and prevent recurrence.

  • Improve product quality by identifying opportunities and recommending process or product improvements.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve product quality, efficiency, and overall manufacturing performance.

  • Document inspection results, findings, nonconformances, and corrective actions in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Responsible for equipment safety, performance, and measurement system effectiveness related to product quality and inspection activities.

  • Related projects as assigned.



Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or 5 years related experience preferred.

  • Experience in a manufacturing and/or quality environment preferred.

  • Working knowledge of quality tools and methodologies, including root cause analysis, corrective actions, statistical process control, and preferred inspection methods.
