Job summary

Aptiv is seeking a Quality Engineer to drive continuous improvement in manufacturing and act as the main liaison for customer quality matters. You will monitor KPIs, lead corrective actions, and ensure compliance with IATF 16949 and customer requirements.

Role requires a bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and 2+ years in automotive quality, with strong problem-solving and MS Excel/PowerPoint skills. Fluency in English is essential for customer interfaces and team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
• Minimum 2+ years in automotive manufacturing quality function.
• Experience leading problem-solving activities and using quality tools (8D, SPC, MSA, FMEA).
• IATF 16949 and customer-specific quality requirements knowledge.
• Strong root-cause analysis, corrective action implementation, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Drive continuous improvement across the manufacturing process with KPI monitoring.
• Lead corrective actions for COPQ, scrap, and FTQ when targets are missed.
• Apply SPC, Pareto charts, and validation methods to ensure process capability.
• Manage non-conforming product processes and containment actions.
• Maintain accurate control plans and complete periodic finished-goods audits.
• Provide quality training to production teams on new processes and controls.
• Serve as primary contact for customer quality issues and problem solving using 8D.
• Verify containment effectiveness and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

YOUR ROLE

This role is responsible for driving continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing process and acting as a primary liaison for all customer quality-related matters.

RESPONSABILITIES

Process Quality & Continuous Improvement

• Monitor and analyze key quality performance indicators (KPIs) such as Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), scrap rate, and First-Time Quality (FTQ). Lead corrective action plans and process improvement initiatives when KPIs fall below target.

• Utilize statistical tools like SPC (Statistical Process Control), Pareto charts, and other process validation methods to ensure manufacturing processes are stable and capable.

• Manage the non-conforming product process, including implementing effective containment actions and directing appropriate rework or disposition.

• Ensure all Control Plans are accurate, up-to-date, and consistently followed on the production floor.

• Conduct periodic audits of finished goods and determine appropriate sample sizes to ensure product meets all specifications.

• Provide quality-related training and guidance to production teams, including operators, team leaders, and quality technicians, on new processes, quality controls, and reaction plans.

Customer Quality & Problem Solving

• Serve as the primary point of contact for customer quality issues, ensuring timely communication and effective problem resolution.

• Lead all problem-solving activities using structured methodologies, such as the 8D process, to identify root causes and implement robust corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

• Validate the effectiveness of containment actions for both internal and external customers to minimize the impact of quality issues.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address customer concerns and support all quality requirements.

Support and participate in internal and external quality system audits (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949).

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.

• 2+ years of experience in an automotive manufacturing quality function

• Proven experience in leading problem-solving activities and applying quality tools (8D, SPC, MSA, FMEA, etc.).

• Strong understanding and experience with Quality Management Systems (IATF 16949 and customer specific requirements).

• Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong ability to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interface with customers and internal teams.

• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple customer requirements, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

• 100% fluency in business English is required

• Must be proficient in Microsoft Powerpoint and Excel

• Proficiency in quality-related software and tools (e.g., Minitab, statistical analysis software)
