We are actively seeking a highly skilled Supplier Quality Engineer to support our supply chain operations in Phoenix, Arizona. This role is vital in ensuring the quality and reliability of our suppliers, contributing directly to the manufacturing excellence that Applied Materials is known for. As a key member of the Supplier Quality team, you will lead quality problem resolutions, support new product development, and drive continuous improvements across our supply base. Your expertise will help maintain the high standards of quality that our customers expect and foster strong relationships with our suppliers to facilitate mutual growth and success. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, managing multiple projects, and making a tangible impact on our manufacturing processes and product quality.
The ideal candidate will possess 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in quality engineering or supply chain management within high‑tech manufacturing environments. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline is required. Demonstrated expertise in engineering principles, project management, and problem‑solving methodologies such as Six Sigma or 8D is essential. Strong communication skills are necessary to effectively liaise with cross‑functional teams and suppliers. Experience with statistical process control (SPC), supplier audits, and quality management systems will be highly valued. Candidates should demonstrate a willingness to develop technical expertise in areas such as OEM, BTP, and specialized processes like coating and cleaning. Leadership qualities, the ability to manage multiple projects, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement are critical for success in this role.
