Qualifications

  • 7–10 years of experience in quality engineering or supply chain management in high-tech manufacturing.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Materials, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Experience with Six Sigma or 8D problem-solving methodologies.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional liaison skills.
  • Experience with SPC, supplier audits, and quality management systems.
  • Willingness to develop technical expertise in OEM, BTP, and specialized processes like coating and cleaning.
  • Leadership qualities to manage multiple projects and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead quality problem resolution by identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions, ensuring systemic supplier resolutions at the process level.
  • Support new product development and introduction by reviewing process specifications, engineering drawings, and first article inspections to ensure clarity and integrity.
  • Develop and implement systemic supplier performance improvement plans aimed at reducing quality defects, warranty issues, and enhancing overall supplier reliability.
  • Drive SPC compliance and lead improvement projects to reduce out-of-control conditions, ensuring consistent process quality.
  • Conduct comprehensive audits at supplier sites, including part-to-print verification, QMS reviews, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Share key learnings and best-known methods across the business unit and supplier base to promote continuous quality improvement.
  • Support pilot and volume manufacturing sites by providing supplier quality expertise, ensuring supplier performance aligns with production requirements.
  • Apply knowledge of qualified sources and products to recommend cost-effective materials to design engineering, aiming for savings, lead time reduction, and system enhancements.
  • Collaborate with new product development teams to ensure engineering drawings and specifications are clear and support manufacturability.
  • Participate in supplier selection processes to develop a supply base that offers competitive advantages in quality, cost, delivery, and technology.
  • Lead supplier technical audits, evaluate supplier capabilities, and identify continuous improvement opportunities, including training other supplier engineers on audit processes.
  • Assist in cost planning by monitoring key cost drivers and supply market trends to maintain a competitive edge.

About The Role

We are actively seeking a highly skilled Supplier Quality Engineer to support our supply chain operations in Phoenix, Arizona.
