You're more valuable than ever - And that's just how we'll make you feel.
Job Summary
The Quality Engineer plays a key role in the Company's transition from traditional quality assurance to a modern Quality Engineering model while retaining a strong foundation in hands-on manual testing. The Quality Engineer will help build quality into the software development lifecycle by partnering early with product, engineering, operations, clinical, and support stakeholders to identify risk, clarify requirements, shape testability, execute thoughtful manual validation, expand automation where appropriate, and improve release confidence before changes reach production. Success in this role requires the ability to learn quickly, think critically, communicate clearly, speak up when something does not make sense, connect details across systems and processes, become a trusted expert on how the solution works, advocate for the end user, and validate whether software truly supports the intended business outcome, not only whether it satisfies the written acceptance criteria. The Quality Engineer must be technically capable, quality-driven, collaborative, and committed to understanding the business, the workflows, and the purpose behind the applications they support.
Qualifications
Education Required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field.
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
Work Experience Required
- 3+ years of hands-on experience performing manual, exploratory, regression, integration, API, web-based, mobile, or enterprise application testing, or equivalent demonstrated ability through software quality, engineering, automation, support, or technical product work.
- Demonstrated ability to create thoughtful test plans, execute detailed manual validation, ask strong questions, connect business context to technical behavior, identify risk early, validate end-to-end workflows, and explain defects clearly to technical and non-technical partners.
- Experience with, or strong interest in growing into, quality engineering practices such as test case management, test automation, API validation, CI/CD quality gates, accessibility and ADA-informed testing, cross-browser validation, regression strategy, observability, and production defect prevention.
- Experience partnering throughout the full software development lifecycle to influence quality up front, clarify requirements, assess testability, surface risks before development is complete, and support informed go/no-go production readiness decisions.
- Experience working within agile delivery teams using common planning, sprint, test management, pipeline, and cross-browser testing tools to support story refinement, sprint execution, test coverage, release readiness, and continuous delivery practices.
Preferred Qualifications, Education, Licenses, Certifications, Experience, etc.
- Healthcare technology experience preferred, including familiarity with urgent care workflows, patient registration, electronic medical records, HL7 integrations, Epic, eClinicalWorks, payment workflows, or revenue cycle processes.
- Familiarity with tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, QMetry, BrowserStack, or comparable platforms is preferred, with emphasis on applying the right quality practices rather than relying on a specific toolset.
