Job summary

Hayden Industrial, a leading manufacturer of industrial cooling systems, is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer for our Claremore, Oklahoma facility. You will develop and maintain quality control processes, perform inspections and audits, and collaborate with production teams to resolve quality issues, ensuring products meet customer specs and standards.

Key responsibilities include leading root-cause analysis, implementing corrective actions, and maintaining documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and Six Sigma is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in quality engineering or quality control within manufacturing.
  • Experience with root cause analysis, FMEA and SPC quality tools.
  • Experience with product testing, inspection techniques, and material specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures and standards for manufacturing processes.
  • Perform regular inspections and audits of materials, processes, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Identify, document, and report quality issues or non-conformities, and work with production teams to resolve them.
  • Analyze quality data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Job description

Hayden Industrial, a leading manufacturer of industrial cooling systems, is seeing an experienced Quality Engineer for our Claremore, Oklahoma facility. The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality and consistency of products. This role involves developing and implementing quality control processes, performing inspections, conducting audits, and collaborating with production teams to resolve quality issues. The Quality Engineer will also analyze data, identify trends, and recommend improvements to ensure products meet customer specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. The position plays a key role in maintaining high-quality standards and driving continuous improvement throughout the production process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures and standards for manufacturing processes.
  • Perform regular inspections and audits of materials, processes, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Identify, document, and report quality issues or non-conformities, and work with production teams to resolve them.
  • Analyze quality data (e.g., defects, customer complaints, production errors) to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., production, engineering, and supply chain) to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action processes for product defects or process inefficiencies.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for quality control processes, inspections, and testing.
  • Conduct training for production staff on quality standards, best practices, and corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, standards (e.g., ISO, Six Sigma), and customer requirements.
  • Support product development by providing quality input during design and prototyping stages.
  • Participate in customer audits and address quality-related concerns or inquiries.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in quality engineering or quality control within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma) and industry standards.
  • Experience with quality tools such as root cause analysis, failure mode effects analysis (FMEA), and statistical process control (SPC).
  • Familiarity with product testing, inspection techniques, and material specifications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management software/systems.
  • Certification in quality management (e.g., CQE, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt) is a plus.

Hayden Industrial has determined this position involves safety-sensitive job duties and will be considered a safety-sensitive position for purpose of the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act ("The Unity Bill.") effective August 29th, 2019.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

This job primarily operates in a professional office environment. This role uses standard office equipment. When in the manufacturing facility, all employees are required to wear personal protective equipment to include/hearing protection, and safety glasses with side shields, and OSHA compliant safety boots/shoes.

While performing duties of this job, the employee in this position might remain stationary for long periods of time, while operating a computer and other office machinery. This position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access filing cabinets and operate office machinery.

The employee might occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds.

On occasion, the employee may be required to visit the shop that is a non-temperature-controlled environment with loud noises, dust, dirt, and metal particles that are usually associated with metal fabrication shops.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel:

Travel is required for this position.
