Job summary

CSP is a leading Tier One supplier in composites, seeking a Quality Engineer in Huntington, NY to drive APQP, PPAP, and continuous improvement across manufacturing processes. You will interpret GD&T, perform CAPA, and coordinate with customers and suppliers to ensure robust quality and on-time deliverables.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 3 years of quality engineering experience in manufacturing, plus excellent communication, math, and mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Familiarize with customer Quality System Requirements including portal.
• Act as liaison with customer & supplier on product matters.
• Lead APQP efforts and maintain/update as needed.
• Create and interpret process flow diagrams, control plans, FMEA.
• Develop manufacturing work instructions and quality inspection instructions.
• Address customer concerns and drive internal quality alerts.
• Train employees on quality issues and implement continuous improvement.

Job Description Essential Job Functions:

• Become familiar with customer Specific Quality System Requirements including the customer specific portal.
• Act as liaison with external parties (customer & supplier) on matters relating to assigned product.
• Head all APQP efforts, responsible for reviewing and updating as needed.
• Process flow diagrams.
• Process control plans.
• Process Failure Mode and Effect Analysis plans.
• Manufacturing work instructions.
• Quality Inspection instructions.
• Error proofing effectiveness.
• Internally collected variable and attribute data.
• BOM accuracy.
• Responsible for managing customer issues.
• Internal product sorts / quality alerts.
• Interim corrective actions.
• Permanent corrective actions.
• Answering to the customer on any concerns/issues they have, including written and verbal.
• Train employees to quality issues as needed.
• Develop, document, and provide for continuous improvement in manufacturing processes, production, and quality through layered process auditing and scrap reduction.
• Read and Interpret GD & T and applying that knowledge as needed.
• Perform Problem-solving Techniques.
• Perform Process Capabilities using Statistical Techniques as needed.
• Be familiar with supplier PPAP’s and procedures.
• Supports IATF16949 and ISO14001 initiatives.
• Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
