Job summary

ESCO Maritime Solutions is seeking a Quality Engineer/Manager in New York to maintain and improve the Quality Management System and lead internal audits. You will collect and analyze performance metrics, drive corrective actions, and ensure QC standards across the lifecycle.

The role requires collaboration with customers and government reps and a proactive, self-directed approach. Base compensation reflects a robust benefits package and professional growth in a defense-focused organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Quality Engineering or Management.
  • Ability to read and interpret complicated technical drawings.
  • Excellent communication skills and self-directed work style.
  • US Person or eligible to obtain export authorization.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System.
  • Manage internal audit process for QMS compliance.
  • Create, collect, analyze, and maintain performance metrics (on-time delivery, non-conformances, supplier defects).
  • Ensure inspection equipment meets QC standards and suggest improvements.
  • Compile and maintain inspection reports and records.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and advise corrective actions.
  • Develop and deploy corrective and preventive action plans.
  • Interface with customer and government quality reps regarding audits and testing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet quality standards throughout product lifecycle.
  • Support quality inspection to ensure efficient processing of parts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the maintenance and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System.
  • Manage the internal audit process to ensure compliance to the Quality Management System.
  • Create, collect, analyze and maintain company performance metrics including on-time-delivery, non-conformances, and supplier defects. Report results to broader company population.
  • Ensure inspection and other equipment meets Quality Control standards. Make suggestions and improvements to procedures, standards, processes and equipment to facilitate work and maintain product quality.
  • Responsible for the compilation and maintenance of inspection reports and records.
  • Perform root-cause analysis; consult with engineering and advise other departments as to corrective measures.
  • Developing and implementing corrective and preventive action plans to address quality issues and prevent recurrence.
  • Interface with customer and government quality representatives regarding audits, corrective actions, acceptance testing, and other quality matters.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that quality standards are met throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Support quality inspection to ensure the efficient processing of parts to maintain manufacturing product lines.
  • Lead efforts to develop, maintain and deploy quality plans and activities that translate customer requirements into planned activities.
  • Perform analyses of quality program requirements and prepare responsive quality plans, procedures, schedules ensure optimum quality support and compliance
  • Providing training and guidance to team members on quality control procedures and best practices
  • Maintain documentation and records related to quality control activities
  • Compliance with Quality Management System procedures
Required Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Quality Engineering or Management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to read and interpret complicated technical drawings
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-starter with minimal oversight and supervision
  • This position requires either a US Person or a non-US Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization
Desired Skills
  • Demonstrated capability in Inspection, Quality Control & Assurance methods, techniques, and equipment
  • Familiarity with AS9100/ISO 9100 requirements
  • Knowledge and familiarity with statistical quality control techniques
  • Knowledge of use of wide variety of measuring instruments
  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned
Physical Requirements
  • Must successfully pass a vision examination (including near vision and color vision, if required) as a condition of employment and/or periodically thereafter
  • Ability to read small text and handwriting
  • Manual dexterity required and able to perform repetitive tasks
  • Frequently required to stand
  • Ability to visually examine parts and documents
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds maximum
Compensation Information

Base Salary Range: $ 75,000- $85,000

Please note, this is the expected compensation however, ESCO Maritime Solutions considers many factors in determining compensation prior to offer such as: responsibilities and scope of role, candidate's work experience and education related to position, applicable certifications or trainings, business and market conditions
