Job summary

Clarios, LLC is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to design, develop, and implement testing and SPC procedures across our manufacturing processes in Toledo, OH. This role drives product and process quality, supports continuous improvement, and partners with cross-functional teams to resolve quality concerns and improve operations.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years in QA/Quality Engineering in manufacturing, experience with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001, and strong SPC and root cause analysis

Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 6 years in Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering in manufacturing.
  • Experience with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, or other Quality Management Systems.
  • Strong knowledge of SPC, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications.

What You Will Do

Under general direction and within division policies and procedures, design, develop, and implement testing and statistical process control procedures to ensure quality specifications are achieved across all manufacturing processes. This role is responsible for driving product and process quality, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, conducting audits, and partnering with customers and cross-functional teams to resolve quality concerns and enhance operational performance.

How You Will Do It

Plan and conduct analysis, inspections, testing, validation, and integration activities to ensure product and process quality. Develop and implement statistical process control (SPC) tools, including control charts, sampling techniques, Pareto analysis, and other quality methodologies. Conduct internal plant audits for Quality Management Systems, including IATF 16949/ISO standards, product quality, laboratory procedures, work instructions, and record retention practices. Issue and follow up on corrective actions to ensure effective root cause resolution and prevent recurrence. Analyze process performance data using SPC methods and recommend process improvements. Perform quality engineering reviews of design documentation, quality manuals, and quality records to ensure compliance with requirements. Collect, organize, and interpret quality data generated through process control and laboratory analysis. Coordinate engineering change activities and support new product introductions. Develop innovative solutions to quality issues identified through audits, inspections, and customer feedback. Communicate significant quality concerns, trends, and improvement opportunities to management. Prepare and present technical reports, quality metrics, and program updates to leadership and cross-functional teams. Develop and execute quality plans for new product development projects. Lead special projects assigned by the Quality Manager. Interface directly with customers, conduct on-site investigations, and implement corrective actions as required. Support business and customer requirements through flexibility in work schedules, including overtime when necessary.

What We Look For
  • Required Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, or other Quality Management Systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, planning, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows-based applications.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to work effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production methods, quality systems, and quality assurance tools.
  • Preferred Experience in automotive manufacturing or highly regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Experience supporting customer quality investigations and corrective action processes.
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or related quality certification.
  • Experience leading cross-functional continuous improvement projects.
  • Familiarity with laboratory testing methodologies and audit management practices.
