Job summary

ManpowerGroup is assisting an industrial manufacturing client in Sussex, WI to hire a Quality Engineer. The role focuses on ensuring quality, reliability, and ISO 9001 compliance across manufacturing operations and cross-functional teams.

The position requires 3–7 years in quality engineering, experience with electrical control panels, and strong root-cause analysis skills using 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, and DMAIC. Expect involvement in APQP, PFMEA, and control plans.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher required or equivalent technical training.
• Bachelor's degree in Industrial/Manufacturing/Electrical/Quality preferred.
• 3–7 years of quality engineering in manufacturing with ISO 9001 experience.
• Strong ability to interpret blueprints and electrical schematics and apply quality tools.
• Experience with APQP, PFMEA, control plans and KPI reporting (FPY, DPM, scrap, rework, COPQ).

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality, reliability, and compliance of industrial control panel assemblies throughout manufacturing.
• Maintain and strengthen ISO 9001 quality systems and related procedures, work instructions, inspection standards, and control plans.
• Monitor processes to verify compliance with drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and customer specs.
• Lead corrective actions and CI efforts by investigating defects, complaints, returns, and field failures.
• Support product/process validation activities including NPI, engineering change management, APQP, PFMEA, and first article approval.

What's the Job?

• Ensure the quality, reliability, and compliance of industrial control panel assemblies throughout the manufacturing process.
• Maintain and strengthen quality systems aligned with ISO 9001 and company quality management requirements, including procedures, work instructions, inspection standards, and control plans.
• Monitor assembly processes to verify compliance with engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and customer specifications.
• Lead corrective action and continuous improvement efforts by investigating defects, customer complaints, returns, warranty claims, and field failures.
• Support product and process validation activities, including NPI, engineering change management, APQP, PFMEA, control plan development, and first article approval.

What's Needed?

• Associate Degree (or higher) with related technical focus; Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 3–7 years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, with experience supporting ISO 9001 quality systems.
• Experience with electrical control panel assembly, wire harness assembly, industrial automation equipment, or electro-mechanical manufacturing preferred.
• Strong technical capability to interpret blueprints and electrical schematics, apply quality tools, and perform root cause analysis using structured methods such as 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, and DMAIC.
• Working knowledge of quality and validation frameworks such as APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, control plans, measurement systems/calibration practices, and quality KPI reporting (e.g., FPY, DPM, scrap, rework, COPQ).
