MPG is seeking a Quality Engineer to lead major projects and develop inspection and testing processes at our Salisbury, MD site. You will write and review quality documents and apply advanced statistical methods to identify performance gaps and set objectives.
You’ll perform reliability analyses, participate in FMEA/DOE activities, and act as a technical interface among design, purchasing, and suppliers. Ideal candidates have a BS in a technical field with 5 years of quality experience, plus ASQ

Handles major projects; participates in high-level cross-functional teams. Develops inspection and testing processes and procedures. Writes, edits, reviews and/or approves quality controlled documents. Applies strategic decision-making skills to identify performance gaps and establish goals and objectives to successfully meet the organization's expectations. Plans and conducts effective benchmarking, and applies lessons learned. Identifies and champions state-of-the-art world-class concepts in quality business processes and continuous improvement. Performs reliability analyses such as MTBF calculations and FMEAs. Participates in advanced quality planning (e.g. FMEA, QFD, DOE) during design, contract, and process reviews. Applies the theory of statistical variation - e.g. ANOVA, t-test, f-test. Interfaces with sales, engineering Customers, and Suppliers. Provides input to the contract review process. Provides diagnostic research; analyzes data, identifies trends, and suggests corrective and preventive actions. Systematically analyzes complex process problems and develops/evaluates alternative solutions. Acts as Lead Internal Auditor and/or Lead Auditor for supplier audits. Acts as technical interface between design engineering, mechanical engineering, purchasing agent and the supplier. May prepare budgets. Integrates quality and statistical tools with lean manufacturing methodologies. Effectively presents information to all levels of the company in electronic, oral, and/or written form. May have supervisory responsibility.
BS degree in a technical discipline with 5 years of quality-related experience. Ability to clearly communicate with tact and sensitivity; ability to write succinctly; ability to make presentations and respond to sensitive inquiries. Ability to apply advanced statistical techniques. Ability to read drawings, blueprints and schematics. Ability to organize and prioritize. Lean manufacturing experience. Strong to expert user of Microsoft Office tools. Ability to work independently and with minimal day‑to‑day direction. Ability to manage via influence rather than title. Ability to facilitate meetings and manage interactions across diverse groups, e.g. engineers, sales, finance, marketing.
ASQ Certified Quality Auditor, Certified Quality Engineer, and ASQ Certified Green Belt highly desirable

Work Arrangement : Onsite
Pay Range: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 annually
Bonus Eligible: This position is eligible to earn a discretionary bonus based on performance metrics and other criteria outlined in our applicable bonus plan.
