Job summary

Curtiss Wright Round Rock is seeking a Quality Engineer to support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality systems and inspection processes across manufacturing operations. You will analyze data, resolve quality issues, support audits, and collaborate cross-functionally to uphold quality across the production lifecycle.

The candidate will have a BS in Engineering/Science, 4+ years in regulated industries, and experience with industry standards (NQA-1, 10 CFR50

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or other Technical Field.
  • 4+ years quality experience in regulated industries.
  • Experience with QA standards (NQA-1, 10 CFR50 Appendix B, ISO 19443, ASME III, ISO 80079-34, ISO9001:2015, AS9100D, ISO/IEC 17025).
  • Ability to plan, control, and assure product & process quality.
  • Excellent writing, speaking, and presentation skills for leadership audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) with guidance from Lead Quality Engineer and Director of Quality.
  • Coordinate and review Corrective Action Reports including root cause analysis.
  • Dispositon of non-conforming material and resolution of customer quality issues.
  • Monitor supplier performance and conduct supplier evaluations.
  • Support internal and external audits (customer/regulatory/registrar).
  • Travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.

We are looking for a Quality Engineer to join our team!

As a Quality Engineer, you will support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality systems and inspection processes across manufacturing operations, ensuring compliance with internal standards, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory frameworks. You will contribute to product quality, process reliability, and operational consistency by analyzing data, resolving quality issues, supporting audits, and collaborating cross-functionally to uphold quality expectations across the production lifecycle.

Location: Round Rock, TX (onsite)

Salary Information: $83,000 – $111,800 annually

Your Challenge
  • Assist Lead Quality Engineer and Director of Quality on the maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Coordinate, resolve, and review Corrective Action Reports, including root cause analysis
  • Disposition of non-conforming material
  • Resolve customer issues related to quality
  • Process and Product Monitoring
  • Monitor supplier performance
  • Perform annual evaluations of suppliers
  • Train/mentor associates on quality awareness
  • Prepare and Review product certification documentation packages
  • Review customer contracts/specifications, design documents, purchase orders, and other documents to ensure that customer and regulatory requirements are met
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities
  • Support incoming audits, such as customer, regulatory, and registrar audits
  • Conduct supplier audits, surveys, and source inspections
  • Up to 25% travel (domestic and international)
  • Other related duties as required
What You Bring
  • Must be U.S. Citizen
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or other Technical Field
  • Four (4) years Quality experience in regulated industries such as Nuclear or Aerospace (equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered)
  • Experience with temperature sensors, pressure transmitters, wire harness/cable assemblies, machined components, and/or printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs)
  • Experience with Quality industry standards (NQA-1, 10CFR50 Appendix B, ISO 19443, ASME Section III, ISO 80079-34, ISO9001:2015, AS9100D, ISO/IEC 17025, etc.)
  • Able to plan, control, and assure product and process quality in accordance with quality principles, which include planning processes, material control, acceptance sampling, and measurement systems
  • Experience with investigating quality issues in a methodical manner ultimately resulting in a report that identifies containment, root cause, and corrective and preventative actions
  • Have basic knowledge of reliability, maintainability, and risk management, including key terms and definitions, modeling, systems design, assessment tools, and reporting
  • Excellent technical writing, oral communication, and presentation skills for reporting and briefing Customers and Senior Leadership
  • Must be able to work effectively in a team environment
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Physical requirements may include lifting to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to access manufacturing and warehouse environments
  • Ability to sit, stand, and use computer systems for extended periods.
Preferred
  • Lives the “continuous improvement” philosophy; develops and adopts new ideas and concepts
  • Certification to ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) is a plus
  • NQA-1 Lead Auditor certification
  • Experience in product inspection (dimensional, visual, NDT examination, etc.)
  • Have an understanding of the audit process including types of audits, planning, preparation, execution, reporting results, and follow-up
  • Able to develop and implement quality systems
  • Able to acquire and analyze data using appropriate standard quantitative methods to facilitate process analysis and improvements
