Job summary

The Hera Technologies, LLC Quality Engineer role focuses on reviewing quality system policies and MRB processes in a aerospace manufacturing environment. You will ensure conformance to drawings, inspect production, and drive continuous improvements.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in inspection/quality, strong communication, and hands-on experience with measuring tools and GD&T, in a fast-paced facility in Ontario, CA.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of Inspection/Quality experience in manufacturing.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to interpret drawings including GD&T.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize inspection duties.
• Must be able to work with others in a fast-changing environment.
• Experience with mechanical measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, gages, height gage, etc.
• Knowledge of CMM data and geometry.
• English communication skills (oral and written).
• Ability to learn cross-functional operations.

Responsibilities

• Review customer purchase orders, contracts, and change requests for quality criteria.
• Report quality issues, trends, and losses to management.
• Participate in internal and external quality audits.
• Serve as QA representative to MRB and manage MRB process.
• Ensure nonconforming material is isolated and documented per procedures.

• Interface with machinists and production on workmanship and quality issues.
• Support source inspection activities for various customers.

Role Overview

Hera Technologies, LLC (the "Company") is seeking a highly motivated,detail-orientedQuality Engineer to join its team.The successful candidatewillfocus on reviewing and maintaining quality system policies and proceduresandquality control processes. This position requires strong technical and analytical background coupled with good communication skills(written and oral)and an understanding of the aerospace industry.The incumbentmust be familiar with a manufacturing environment, haveworkingcomputer knowledge and be a self-starter who pays attention to detail and accuracy and take responsibility fortheirwork.

Key Responsibilities

• Review customerspurchaseorders, contracts and change requests and ensure that the necessary criteria and provisions are included in quality and process plans.
• Report to management on quality issues,trendsand losses.
• Participate in internal and external quality audits.
• Serve as the Quality Assurance representative to the Materials Review Board (MRB)and manage the MRB process.
• Ensure nonconforming material is isolated/quarantined from acceptable parts and is properly documented and controlledin accordance withHera Quality procedures and work instructions.
• Compile, write,and deliver training material on quality standards, practices,and activities.
• Interface with machinists and production personnel related totheirworkmanship and determineif other quality issues exist.
• Support ofsourceinspection activitiesfor various customers.
• Ensure material products and processes (paint, anodize, chem-film, etc.) are appliedin accordance withapplicable drawings and specification requirements.
• Generate and fill out AS9102 (FAI) and regular inspection reports.
• Lead Root Cause and Corrective Action investigations, interfacing with the Hera team as applicable.
• Lead Process flow definition and improvement activities.
• Lead other improvement activities as needed using Quality Improvement toolbox (such as DMAIC, PDCA, etc.)
• Interface with customers on complaints & returns, and on customer corrective action requests.
• Maintain Approved Supplier List.
• Review job travelers for compliance to customer blueprint andpurchaseorders.
• Support Inspection activities, including mylar inspection.
• Maintain Calibration log and review certifications for compliance to requirements.
• Support 5-S and adhere to health, safety, and environmentalcompany guidelines.
• Learn to and perform cross-functional operations.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of Inspection/Quality experience in manufacturing environment.

• Working knowledge of CMM data and geometry.
• Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written English.
• Ability to learn to perform cross-functional operations.

• Ability to work in office, lab, and manufacturing environments with occasional exposure to noise, chemicals, dust, industrial equipment, and temperature variations

• Frequent use of hands and fingers for data entry, keyboarding, and mouse use
• Ability to view computer screens for prolonged periods
• Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and via email

Job Details

Type: Full time - Exempt

Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Base Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000

Base Location: Ontario, CA

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Total compensation will also include a comprehensive set of benefits including but not limited to: Company paid employee medical, dental and vision insurance. 401K company match (eligibility required), paid sick leave, paid vacation, paid holidays and discretionary bonuses.
