Job summary

Dauch Corporation is seeking a Quality Engineer for its North Vernon, IN team. You will drive product quality, customer satisfaction and continuous improvement across manufacturing operations, serving as the main liaison between customers and internal production teams to ensure adherence to specifications.

You will manage APQP/PPAP processes, root cause analysis, scrap reduction and maintain manufacturing quality plans to support ISO9001, IATF16949 and ISO14001 compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
• 3+ years experience with AIAG APQP, MSA, PPAP, SPC FMEA manuals.
• 3+ years experience auditing ISO9001/IATF16949 & ISO14001.

Responsibilities

• Liaises between Plant and customer and supplier locations.
• Leads customer complaint investigation and coordinates containment activities.
• Submits CA/PA to customers per requirements.
• Maintains internal CAR system.
• Monitors and verifies corrective action effectiveness.
• Monitors customer scorecards and drives improvement activities.
• Coordinates customer visits and quality reviews.
• Communicates and trains associates on corrective actions.
• Monitors, controls and reports Cost of Quality.
• Participates in APQP meetings and activities including development of special characteristics.
• Supports compliance with IATF-16949, ISO-9001, and ISO-14001.
• Develops PPAP or equivalent packages for submission to customers and tracks approval status.
• Develops, implements, and maintains MQP (Mfg Quality Plans) including pFMEA, Control Plans, Flow Diagrams, Inspection Instructions.
• Participates in gaging method development and issues product/process deviations.
• Maintains daily contact with Manufacturing to facilitate problem solving and continuous improvement.
• Provides training related to boundary samples, SPC, and customer requirements.
• Disposes product on-hold and conducts Final Audit.
• Maintains NCM area including tagging and disposition.
• Participates in customer and 3rd party assessments.
• Completes capability studies and reports findings.

• Monitors, controls and reports Cost of Quality.
• Participates in the APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) meetings and activities including the development of special characteristics.
• Provides support for compliance with IATF-16949, ISO-9001, and ISO-14001.
• Develops PPAP or equivalent packages for submission to customers and tracks approval status.
• Develop, implement, and maintain the MQP (Manufacturing Quality Plans) as follows:pFMEA, Control Plans, Flow DiagramsInspection Instructions and related formsOther (Lot Cards, Ok to Ship tags, etc.)
• Participate in the development of new or revised gaging methods. Issues Product related process deviations.
• Maintains daily contact and provides support to Manufacturing by facilitating problem solving and continuous improvement to enhance quality and reduce scrap. Facilitates and documents monthly scrap reduction meetings.
• Provide training related to boundary samples, SPC, customer specific requirements, etc.
• Disposition product on-hold throughout the process including Final Audit.
• Overall maintenance of NCM (Non-Conforming Material) area including proper tagging, logging, and disposition of material.
• Participates in customer and 3rd party assessments as required.
• Completes capability studies and other experimental activities related to product/process variables to include reporting and recommendations.
• Develops, implements, and maintains visual boundary samples.
• Develop, implement, and maintain reaction plans.
• Identify & assist with the development of Error Proofing devices (Poka Yokes) in-process.
• Assist with gage maintenance including masters and gage certification tables.
• Directs the activities of the Quality Inspectors.
• Participates in LPAs.
• All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Education

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience.

• 3+ years experience in Quality documentation/processes (AIAG APQP, MSA, PPAP, SPC FMEA manuals).

• 3+ years experience in ISO9001/IATF16949 & ISO14001 auditing.
