Job summary

Dauch in Three Rivers, Michigan is seeking a Quality Engineer to join our on-site team. You will apply statistical methods, lead quality investigations, and support APQP and process audits within automotive manufacturing.

The role focuses on analyzing data, developing improvement experiments, and maintaining SPC charts while collaborating with customers and internal teams to drive quality capable processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• 3–5+ years of quality experience in automotive manufacturing.
• 1+ year of APQP and process audit experience.
• Willingness and ability to travel ~5–10% as requested.
• Willingness and ability to work overtime and weekends as requested.

Responsibilities

• Recommends quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to manufacturing processes.
• Researches statistical confidence by identifying sample size and acceptable error rate; determining levels of confidence.
• Analyzes quality data from plant processes or customer indicators.
• Provides feedback to customers based on quality projects (e.g., warranty, APQP, issues, etc.).
• Leads quality investigations and problem solving.
• Researches statistical reliability by using mean time before failure, Weibull distribution and related analyses.
• Develops QC experiments by applying factorial techniques.
• Develops sampling plans by applying attribute, variable, and sequential sampling methods.
• Maintains SPC by applying charts and distribution analyses.
• Analyzes data by hypothesis testing and process capability analyses.
• Prepares statistical information and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
• Contributes to quality engineering success by handling diverse requests and supporting teammates.
• All other duties as assigned.

Job Description

• Recommends quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to manufacturing processes.
• Researches statistical confidence by identifying sample size and acceptable error rate; determining levels of confidence.
• Analyzes quality data from plant processes or customer indicators.
• Provides feedback to customers based on quality projects (e.g., warranty, APQP, issues, etc.).
• Leads quality investigations and problem solving.
• Researches statistical reliability by using mean time before failure, Weibull 3-parameter distribution, reliability modeling, and reliability demonstration tests.
• Develops quality improvement experiments by applying full and fractional factorial techniques.
• Develops sampling plans by applying attribute, variable, and sequential sampling methods.
• Maintains statistical process controls by applying demerit/unit, zone charting, X2 charts for distributions and individual-media/range for multi-stream processes.
• Analyzes data by completing hypothesis, normal distribution, and process capability analysis tests.
• Prepares statistical information and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
• Contributes to quality engineering and organization success by welcoming related, different, and new requests; helping others accomplish job results.
• All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills And Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or other related field.
• 3-5+ years of Quality experience in an automotive manufacturing environment.
• 1+ year of APQP and process audit experience.
• Willingness and ability to travel ~5-10% as requested.
• Willingness and ability to work overtime and weekends as requested.
