Qualifications

  • Experience investigating nonconformances and implementing corrective and preventive actions.

Job description

Foxconn Technology USA Corporation is seeking detail-oriented and hands-on Quality Engineers to support quality engineering and quality management activities at our manufacturing facility. This role will be responsible for product and process quality, inspections, quality documentation, failure analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.

The Quality Engineer will collaborate with production, engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and other cross-functional teams to maintain stable processes, control defects, and ensure product traceability from incoming materials through production and final shipment.

Key Responsibilities
Quality Engineering and Quality Systems
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of the company’s Quality Management System.
  • Ensure quality activities comply with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, customer-specific requirements, and internal standards.
  • Participate in internal, customer, and supplier audits and support the timely closure of audit findings.
  • Develop, review, and maintain quality documentation, including procedures, inspection standards, work instructions, and quality records.
  • Support document control, quality record retention, and change management activities.
Advanced Product Quality Planning
  • Support Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities for new products, processes, and manufacturing programs.
  • Prepare and maintain Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation and submission packages.
  • Develop, review, and update Process Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (PFMEA).
  • Develop and maintain Control Plans aligned with process risks, customer requirements, and inspection needs.
  • Coordinate quality requirements during product launches, process changes, equipment qualification, and production readiness activities.
Process and Product Quality Control
  • Develop quality control plans, inspection procedures, acceptance criteria, and work instructions.
  • Support incoming, in-process, and final inspections to ensure products meet specifications and customer requirements.
  • Monitor manufacturing processes to maintain process stability, defect control, and product traceability.
  • Analyze inspection results, process data, scrap, rework, and other quality indicators to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Apply Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods to monitor process performance and capability.
  • Conduct Measurement System Analysis (MSA), including Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility studies.
  • Support equipment qualification, process validation, and inspection method verification.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) requirements.
Nonconformance and Corrective Action
  • Investigate product, process, supplier, and customer-related nonconformances.
  • Lead or support root cause analysis using tools such as 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, and Fault Tree Analysis.
  • Develop, implement, and verify Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
  • Confirm the effectiveness and sustainability of corrective actions through follow-up reviews and data analysis.
  • Coordinate containment activities and disposition of nonconforming materials.
  • Support customer complaint investigations and prepare clear, timely responses when required.
  • Use quality data and statistical analysis to identify recurring issues, process variation, and improvement opportunities.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to reduce defects, scrap, rework, and customer complaints.
  • Support continuous improvement projects focused on product quality, process capability, operational efficiency, and cost reduction.
  • Provide quality-related training and technical guidance to production and inspection personnel.
  • Promote a strong culture of quality, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement throughout the facility.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Quality Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of three years of relevant experience in quality engineering, quality control, manufacturing, or inspection.
  • Working knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 quality management standards.
  • Experience with APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, and SPC.
  • Experience investigating nonconformances and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Familiarity with structured root cause analysis methods, including 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, and Fault Tree Analysis.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, tolerances, and GD&T.
  • Ability to analyze quality data and identify product or process issues.
  • Strong attention to detail and disciplined documentation practices.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, organization, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
  • Responsible, safety-minded, adaptable, and willing to learn new manufacturing processes.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally for short-term training or business assignments.
Computer and System Skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience with statistical analysis software such as Minitab.
  • Familiarity with Quality Management System (QMS) software.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Manufacturing Execution System (MES) platforms.
  • Experience using document control and CAPA tracking systems.
  • Experience with inspection data management and SPC software.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in an automotive, precision manufacturing, electronics, tooling, machining, or other high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting new product introduction, production launches, or equipment qualification.
  • Experience participating in internal, supplier, or customer quality audits.
  • Familiarity with customer-specific quality requirements and supplier quality management.
  • ASQ certification, such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), is preferred but not required.
