Job summary

Sterling Engineering seeks a hands-on Quality Engineer with automotive manufacturing experience and a strong IATF 16949 background. You will work cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Engineering, Suppliers, and Customers to resolve issues, drive continuous improvement, and strengthen the Quality Management System.

The role emphasizes root cause analysis, APQP/PPAP involvement, and data-driven problem solving to reduce scrap and boost process capability in a precision manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Automotive manufacturing experience – REQUIRED.
  • IATF 16949 experience – REQUIRED.
  • Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, SPC, and MSA.
  • Experience with corrective action and root cause analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support and improve the Quality Management System in accordance with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001.
  • Lead root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.
  • Support APQP and PPAP activities.
  • Utilize quality core tools including PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, and MSA.
  • Investigate customer complaints, nonconformances, and process issues.
  • Analyze quality data and identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Support internal, customer, and supplier audits.
  • Develop and maintain quality documentation and procedures.
  • Partner with Production and Engineering to reduce scrap, improve processes, and prevent recurring quality issues.

Quality Engineer – Automotive Manufacturing

Are you a Quality Engineer with automotive manufacturing experience and a strong understanding of IATF 16949? This could be a great opportunity to join an established precision manufacturer supporting automotive and other highly regulated industries.

This is a hands-on Quality Engineering role where you'll work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Suppliers, and Customers to solve quality issues, improve processes, and drive continuous improvement.

What You'll Do
  • Support and improve the Quality Management System in accordance with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001
  • Lead root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement
  • Support APQP and PPAP activities
  • Utilize quality core tools including PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, and MSA

What We're Looking For
