Job summary

Rolls-Royce in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Quality Engineer to join the Problem Resolution Team. The role focuses on containing escapes, preventing defects, and providing data-driven insight into non-quality issues.

You will work with domestic and external supply chains to improve quality across the network. Responsibilities include leading non-conformance management, coaching suppliers and internal stakeholders, and supporting problem-solving activities with data to measure supplier

Qualifications

  • Associate degree with 4 years of experience in supply chain, engineering, quality or operations, OR
  • Bachelor's degree with 2 years of experience in supply chain, engineering, quality or operations, OR
  • Master's degree in supply chain, engineering, quality or operations, OR
  • JD/PhD in supply chain, engineering, quality or operations, OR
  • 6 years of experience in supply chain, engineering, quality, or operations, in lieu of a degree
  • Must be able to travel 10% of the time
  • U.S. Citizen required to be considered for this role

Position Summary

As a Quality Engineer and part of the Problem Resolution Team (PRT), you will be working closely with our domestic and external supply chains to contain escapes and prevent defects and to provide data and insight into the causes of non-quality.

Basic Requirements
  • Associate degree and 4 years of experience in supply chain, engineering, quality or operations, OR
  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience in supply chain, engineering, quality or operations, OR
  • Master's degree in supply chain, engineering, quality or operations, OR
  • JD/PhD degree in supply chain, engineering, quality or operations, OR
  • 6 years of experience in supply chain, engineering, quality, or operations, in lieu of a degree
  • Must be able to travel 10% of the time
  • In order to be considered for this role, you must be a U.S. Citizen
Preferred
  • Educated in a technical discipline, coupled with a background of working in an operational Quality role
  • Good problem solving, data analysis and presentation skills
  • Interpersonal savvy, planning and personal organization skills and the ability to influence others
  • Demonstrable evidence of business acumen; relating to quality, improvement, manufacturing and HSE activities and priorities
  • Knowledge and demonstrable application of Quality and BI tools, i.e., 8D investigation, improvement methodologies
  • Able to coach and mentor others
  • Strong customer focus
