Job summary

ITP (International Talent Partnership) in Illinois is seeking a Quality Engineer to join an aerospace manufacturing team developing high-precision mechanical components used in mission-critical applications. This role targets professionals with 1-2 years of quality/inspection experience and a path to expertise in GD&T and metrology.

You will perform dimensional inspections, interpret drawings with GD&T, support FAI, and ensure parts meet customer and regulatory requirements under AS9100.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or related field.
• Experience in a manufacturing quality role.
• Familiarity with AS9100 quality management system and GD&T drawings.
• Detail-oriented and analytical with problem-solving skills.
• Willing to collaborate across Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional inspections using CMMs, micrometers, calipers, and optical systems.
• Interpret drawings and apply GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
• Support FAI activities and quality documentation.
• Conduct in-process and final inspections to meet requirements.
• Assist root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Contribute to process capability studies and quality reporting.
• Participate in internal audits and AS9100 compliance.
• Support supplier quality and incoming inspections.

Are you a Quality Engineer with a passion for precision, problem-solving, and manufacturing quality?

We're looking for a Quality Engineer to join a growing aerospace manufacturing team developing high-precision mechanical components used in mission-critical applications. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 1-2 years of quality/inspection experience who wants to develop expertise in GD&T, metrology, precision inspection, and aerospace quality systems.

Working alongside experienced engineers and machinists, you'll play a key role in ensuring complex machined components meet the demanding standards required for aerospace applications.

What You'll Be Doing

• Perform dimensional inspections using CMMs, micrometers, calipers, optical measurement systems, and other precision inspection equipment.
• Interpret engineering drawings and apply GD&T principles (ASME Y14.5) to verify critical product features.
• Support First Article Inspection (FAI) activities and quality documentation.
• Conduct in-process and final inspections to ensure parts meet customer and regulatory requirements.
• Work closely with Manufacturing and Engineering teams to investigate quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Assist with root cause analysis of non-conformances and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to process capability studies, inspection planning, and quality reporting.
• Participate in internal audits and help maintain compliance with AS9100 quality standards.
• Support supplier quality and incoming inspection activities as required.

What We're Looking For

• Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience in a quality role in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of AS9100 quality management system.
• Understanding of GD&T and engineering drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and a desire to develop expertise in precision measurement and quality engineering.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable working collaboratively across Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams.

Nice to Have

• Exposure to CMM inspection or CMM programming.
• Familiarity with SPC, root cause analysis, or continuous improvement methodologies.
• Understanding of CNC machining processes and manufactured components.
