Job summary

Sanmina has an opening for a Quality Engineer in Huntsville, AL to develop and implement quality processes for electronics manufacturing. You will create PFMEA and control plans, analyze data to identify trends, and drive corrective actions across programs.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s in engineering, 2+ years’ experience in manufacturing quality, and familiarity with quality tools and standards. On-site role with cross-functional collaboration and support for NPI and production issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar technical discipline.
• Minimum 2 years experience as a Quality Engineer in a manufacturing environment; preferably electronics.
• Six Sigma green projects and lean events.
• Familiar with standards/specifications/regulatory compliance, including government.
• Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact and communicate.
• Ability to read and interpret part-specific technical prints/drawings.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with Agile and/or Oracle Databases is highly desirable.
• Familiar with 8D (DMAIC) and RCCA resolution activities.
• Knowledge of CMM and Microvue measurement equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and revise reports, procedures and documents including PFMEA, Quality Control plans and Contract Review documents.
• Perform data analysis and trend identification on in-process and finished products to drive root cause and corrective actions.
• Participate in FRACAS for customer returns.
• Perform Material Review Board dispositions on suspected material.
• Support New Product Introduction activities.
• Work independently and with assigned program teams.
• Support production and resolve issues.

Nature Of Duties/Responsibilities

• Developing and revising reports, procedures and documents including Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA), Quality Control plans and Contract Review documents.

• Participating in the Failure Reporting Analysis And Corrective Action System (FRACAS) root cause and corrective action process for customer returns
• Performing Material Review Board dispositions on suspected material

• Support production and resolve issues

Education And Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar technical discipline
• Minimum 2 years experience as a Quality Engineer in a manufacturing environment; preferably in the electronic manufacturing industry

• Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact and communicate

• Solid experience with standard quality tools and documentation (SPC, MSA, FMEA, Control Plans, Six Sigma, Pareto Analysis, APQP, PPAP, ISO9001/IATF16949)
• Ability to translate customer quality requirements into executable plans
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
• Familiarity with Agile and/or Oracle Databases and their use is highly desirable
• Familiar with 8D (DMAIC) and RCCA resolution activities
• Knowledge of CMM and Microvue measurement equipment is a plus
