Job summary

Donaldson Company in Greeneville, TN is seeking a Quality Engineer to uphold product quality, drive continuous improvement, and ensure customer satisfaction in a manufacturing setting.

You will develop and implement QA policies and programs, participate in design and process reviews, and lead testing, inspection, SPC, and corrective actions with cross-functional teams. Travel up to 20% is required.

Responsibilities

• Support product quality through development and implementation of process control methods and inspection procedures.
• Perform product testing and analysis to minimize defects and maintain quality at cost-effective levels.
• Implement sampling plans, SPC techniques, and QA procedures.
• Analyze production data to identify trends and revise specifications as needed.
• Represent QA in product design and development projects.
• Develop economics of quality control programs when required.
• Identify critical problem areas and seek appropriate guidance for solutions.
• Seek feedback to better understand products and customer preferences.
• Apply knowledge of new designs and techniques to improve production efficiency.
• Stay current with advances in engineering technology to improve processes.

The Quality Engineer role supports the manufacturing environment by ensuring product quality, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction. The role is responsible for the development of effective quality assurance policies and programs to ensure the organization produces quality products in a cost-effective manner. Qualified candidates must be able to work an on-site schedule at our Greeneville, TN office/facility.

Role Responsibilities:

• Support product quality by development and implementation of methods and procedures for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection to ensure that the products are free of flaws and function as designed.
• Perform product testing and analysis to ensure that potential defects and failure rates are minimized, and quality levels are maintained in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.
• Implement sampling plans, statistical process control (SPC) techniques, and quality-assurance procedures.
• Analyze production limitations, standards, reports, and defective products to determine trends and recommends revision of specifications when indicated.
• Represent quality assurance in product design and development projects.
• Develop the economics of any quality control programs when required.
• Recognize critical problem areas and potential consequences and seeks appropriate guidance to find alternate solutions.
• Consistently seeking feedback and guidance of others in order to develop a more thorough understanding of products and customer preferences.
• Use existing procedures to solve routine or standard problems; receives instruction, guidance and direction from others.
• Show familiarity with new designs, methods, techniques, materials and other advances in engineering technology to increase production efficiency.
• Recognize potential use of emerging technologies. Knows and applies fundamental concepts, practices and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering or related technical field
• 2+ years of relevant Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment

• Exemplar Global Certified Lead Auditor IATF16949:2016
• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer
• AIAG PFMEA training certification
• LEAN/Six Sigma Green Belt
• World Class Manufacturing (WCM) training/experience
• Strong computer skills-Microsoft Office
• Able to communicate effectively
