Job summary

Venteon seeks an experienced Quality Engineer for a Tier 1 automotive supplier in the Grand Rapids area. You will develop, implement, and improve quality management systems (QMS/QOS) to support manufacturing operations.

The ideal candidate has deep IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and MSA experience, with a track record of data-driven improvement and strong root-cause analysis in a fast-paced plant environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Quality Engineering or related manufacturing quality experience.
• Automotive or Tier 1 manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 quality standards.
• Strong experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and MSA.
• Hands-on experience implementing, executing, or improving QMS/QOS systems.
• Experience with quality data analysis, reporting, KPIs, and performance metrics.
• JIT manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience supporting ISO, IATF, and/or VDA audits; auditor certification is a plus.
• Strong root cause analysis, problem-solving, and corrective action experience.
• Ability to analyze quality data and make data-driven decisions.
• Strong commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a subject matter expert for QMS, QOS, and PMT deployment and sustainment.
• Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of plant quality systems.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, process stability, and waste reduction.
• Support the implementation, validation, training, and optimization of quality systems and tools.
• Support supplier and manufacturing quality processes through QMS/QOS tools.
• Monitor quality KPIs, identify trends and risks, and drive corrective and preventive actions.
• Analyze quality data to improve reporting accuracy and provide actionable insights.
• Participate in internal and external quality audits, including preparation and follow-up activities.
• Assist with supplier audits to ensure compliance and drive performance improvements.
• Gather user feedback and identify opportunities to improve quality system effectiveness and usability.
