Job summary

Prestige Staffing Services is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer for a direct hire in the Fort Wayne area. Openings on 2ND and 3RD shift.

You will lead APQP activities, interact with customers and suppliers, and drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes. The role requires a four-year degree and at least three years of manufacturing quality engineering experience, plus strong communication, math, and mechanical aptitude.

Qualifications

• Four year degree and at least three years of quality engineering experience in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Become familiar with customer specific quality system requirements and portals.
• Act as liaison with customers and suppliers on assigned product quality matters.
• Head APQP efforts and review/update as needed.
• Create and maintain process flow diagrams and control plans.
• Develop PFMEA plans and internal inspection instructions.
• Collect and analyze internal quality data and ensure BOM accuracy.
• Manage customer issues, quality alerts, and corrective actions (temporary and permanent).
• Communicate with customers in writing and verbally; train staff on quality issues.
• Drive continuous improvement in manufacturing through layered process audits and scrap reduction.
• Read and apply GD&T; perform basic capability studies as required.
• Familiarity with supplier PPAPs; support IATF16949 and ISO14001 initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Become familiar with customer Specific Quality System Requirements including the customer specific portal.
  
• Act as liaison with external parties (customer & supplier) on matters relating to assigned product.
  
• Head all APQP efforts, responsible for reviewing and updating as needed.
  
• Process flow diagrams.
  
• Process control plans.
  
• Process Failure Mode and Effect Analysis plans.

Requirements:
