Job summary

Intek Plastics Group is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Engineer to support QA activities in our manufacturing operations. You will develop and maintain quality systems, investigate defects, and drive continuous improvement across the organization.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in SPC, QMS, customer-focused quality management, and experience partnering with suppliers and customers on quality initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field required.
  • Minimum 4 years of engineering experience in manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of QMS, SPC, and quality metrics.
  • Experience with root cause investigations and corrective actions.
  • ISO 9001 and/or ISO 13485 experience preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and data analysis ability.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and evaluate quality processes, sampling plans, and SPC techniques.
  • Develop and maintain QMS documentation, policies, and work instructions.
  • Investigate defects, perform root cause analysis, and drive CAPA activities.
  • Review quality data and recommend continuous improvement actions.
  • Support PPAPs, PFQs, FAIRs, NPIs, and supplier/customer quality initiatives.

This role is responsible for developing and maintaining quality systems, resolving quality-related issues, ensuring product compliance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.The ideal candidate will be a strong analytical problem-solver with experience in manufacturing quality systems, statistical process control, and customer-focused quality management.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and evaluate quality processes, inspection methods, sampling plans, and statistical techniques.Develop and maintain quality policies, procedures, work instructions, and Quality Management System (QMS) documentation.Investigate product defects, conduct root cause analysis, and lead corrective and preventive action activities.Review quality performance data and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.Support customer and supplier quality initiatives, including:PPAPsControl PlansFirst Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs)New Product Introductions (NPIs)Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve quality concerns.Participate in internal and external quality audits.Support measurement systems, including CTE and Bytewise laser technologies.Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) activities and initiatives to reduce scrap and DPPM.Train and mentor Associate Quality Engineers and other manufacturing personnel.Approve customer quality documentation and ensure compliance with company and customer requirements.Promote and support adherence to the company's Quality Management System.QualificationsRequiredBachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field.Minimum of 4 years of engineering experience.Experience working in a manufacturing environment.Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS).Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and quality metrics.Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.Experience conducting root cause investigations and implementing corrective actions.Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.PreferredCertified Quality Engineer (CQE).Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification, or willingness to obtain certification within two years.Experience with ISO 9001 and/or ISO 13485 quality systems.Physical RequirementsAbility to regularly lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, twist, and carry materials or tools throughout an 8-10 hour shift.Ability to support a fast-paced manufacturing environment operating up to 24 hours a day, 5 days per week.Regular and predictable attendance is required.Why Join Us?Opportunity to make a direct impact on product quality and customer satisfaction.Collaborative, team-oriented manufacturing environment.Career development and professional certification opportunities.Continuous improvement culture focused on innovation and operational excellence.Apply today and help us drive quality, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence throughout our organization.
