Job summary

Dover Corp in Conyers, GA is seeking a Quality Engineer to coordinate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Sales, and Supply Chain to resolve production and customer quality issues through data collection and problem‑solving methodologies that ensure sustainable quality improvement.

You will lead and contribute to cross‑functional teams, applying PDCA, 6‑sigma and A3 methodologies, and develop measurements to communicate quality performance at all levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Experience supporting quality and improvement initiatives within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• 3-5 years' experience applying quality engineering principles, problem-solving methodologies, and continuous improvement tools to drive process and product quality improvements.

Responsibilities

• Use formal, data-driven problem-solving methodologies (e.g., PDCA, A3, 6-sigma) to drive their efforts forward and deliver sustainable results.
• Develop and implement data collection and analysis projects to define capability of current production processes to define improvement opportunities
• Understanding and defining production capabilities and applying capability data to engineering & production quality standards and specifications.
• Developing measurements and effectively communicating data to various organizational levels.
• Participating in lean initiatives, such as 5s, value stream teams, and blitz events as required.
• Working with manufacturing, continuous improvement, and other teams when cross-functional problem-solving initiatives are required.
• Working with Industrial Engineering and Accounting to determine the financial impact of the cost of poor quality (COPQ) and the benefits of continuous improvement projects.
• Developing training material, operating procedures, work instructions and training individuals/teams as needed in updated processes and procedures.
• Organizing meetings, events, and associated logistics related to QA activity.

The Quality Engineer will accomplish their objectives both as an individual contributor and as a team leader and will be expected to help build & foster a business environment that embraces quality assurance (QA) and continuous improvement as a key to the company’s ongoing growth and success.

What are the basic qualifications?

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Experience supporting quality and improvement initiatives within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• 3-5 years' experience applying quality engineering principles, problem-solving methodologies, and continuous improvement tools to drive process and product quality improvements.
