Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • 3–5 years' experience applying quality engineering and continuous improvement in manufacturing.
  • Experience with QA and problem-solving tools to improve process/product quality.

Responsibilities

  • Use data-driven problem-solving methodologies (PDCA, A3, 6-sigma) to drive sustainable results.
  • Develop and implement data collection and analysis projects to define capability of current production processes.
  • Define production capabilities and apply data to quality standards.
  • Develop measurements and communicate data to organizational levels.
  • Participate in lean initiatives (5S, value stream teams, blitz events).
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, continuous improvement and other teams on cross-functional problems.
  • Determine COPQ impact with Industrial Engineering and Accounting; quantify benefits of improvements.
  • Create training material, procedures, work instructions, and trains teams.
  • Organize meetings and logistics for QA activities.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for a Quality Engineer who will coordinate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Sales, and Supply Chain to resolve production and customer quality issues through systematic data collection and problem-solving methodologies that ensure sustainable quality improvement. The Quality Engineer will accomplish their objectives both as an individual contributor and as a team leader and will be expected to help build & foster a business environment that embraces quality assurance (QA) and continuous improvement as a key to the company’s ongoing growth and success.

What You’ll Be Responsible For In This Role
  • Use formal, data-driven problem-solving methodologies (e.g., PDCA, A3, 6-sigma, etc.) to drive their efforts forward and deliver sustainable results.
  • Develop and implement data collection and analysis projects to define capability of current production processes to define improvement opportunities
  • Understanding and defining production capabilities and applying capability data to engineering & production quality standards and specifications.
  • Developing measurements and effectively communicating data to various organizational levels.
  • Participating in lean initiatives, such as 5s, value stream teams, and blitz events as required.
  • Working with manufacturing, continuous improvement, and other teams when cross-functional problem-solving initiatives are required.
  • Working with Industrial Engineering and Accounting to determine the financial impact of the cost of poor quality (COPQ) and the benefits of continuous improvement projects.
  • Developing training material, operating procedures, work instructions and training individuals/teams as needed in updated processes and procedures.
  • Organizing meetings, events, and associated logistics related to QA activity.
What are the basic qualifications?
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Experience supporting quality and improvement initiatives within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • 3-5 years’ experience applying quality engineering principles, problem‑solving methodologies, and continuous improvement tools to drive process and product quality improvements.
To Be a Great Fit For The Role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is preferred

  • Employ a variety of QA / problem‑solving tools and know when each is appropriate to use.

  • Work at ease in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • In‑depth knowledge of problem solving & quality assurance tools (PFMEA, CP…) with practical application experience.
