Akkodis is seeking a Quality Engineer for a contractual role in the Carson, CA Area

Rate Range: $38/hour - $40/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Quality Engineer Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary quality interface for customers, proactively ensuring quality requirements are understood, implemented, and satisfied.
• Support customer complaint investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities.
• Partner with Supply Chain and suppliers to monitor, analyze, and improve supplier quality performance.
• Assist in the development, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of Quality Management Systems (QMS).
• Support Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities for new product development, product launches, and process improvements.
• Conduct internal quality audits and participate in supplier audits to ensure compliance with established requirements.
• Complete part approval and qualification documentation to support customer and regulatory requirements.
• Analyze quality metrics, process performance data, and statistical trends to identify improvement opportunities.
• Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions to resolve quality issues.
• Create, maintain, and audit inspection plans, test plans, work instructions, standards, and acceptance criteria.
• Support process capability studies, control plans, process audits, and out-of-control condition investigations.
• Assist with reliability testing, design reviews, manufacturing support, and product verification activities.
• Participate in the selection, validation, maintenance, and evaluation of measurement systems, gauges, and test equipment.
• Support and conduct quality-related training initiatives across the organization.

Desired Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
• 3-6 years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience working with quality management systems and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and implement solutions.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with customers, suppliers, engineering, operations, and leadership teams.

Preferred Skills & Knowledge

• Strong understanding of structured problem-solving methodologies, including 8D, Root Cause Analysis, and corrective action processes.
• Experience utilizing statistical tools for process analysis and improvement.
• Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
• Experience with supplier quality management and supplier development activities.
• Understanding of product testing requirements, engineering design concepts, and product reliability principles.
• Knowledge of gauge management, measurement systems, and material properties.
• Experience supporting new product development and launch activities.
