Job summary

A leading staffing agency is looking for a Quality Engineer to ensure high standards at an Aerospace Manufacturing facility. The role demands over 5 years of experience in quality engineering within the Aerospace sector, familiarity with CNC machining and molding manufacturing, and AS9100 certification. Responsibilities include managing corrective actions, driving continuous improvement, and conducting internal audits. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in GD&T and blueprint reading, as well as experience with Lean tools.

Qualifications

Quality Engineer Orange County, CA $100-$130k plus bonus

Summary

Ensure the quality of the parts produced at our Aerospace Manufacturing facility meets all customer expectations and quickly and effectively take action when non-conformances are found. Maintain the most recent interpretations of the quality system requirements and therefore ensure that documented practices meet the true interpretation of the quality management system standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Corrective/Preventive Action system and see them through to closure including verification of effectiveness.
• Manage and Track Continuous Improvement Program.
• Review and investigate all customer returns and seek out root cause to assist in making changes to processes to eliminate non-conformances. This includes responding to all customers’ SCAR that are issued.
• Participate in MRB process, and investigate non-conformances discovered during the manufacturing process throughout the plant, working with key personnel to ensure no re-occurrences happen.
• Manage the Company’s Supplier Quality program.
• Perform internal audits to ensure compliance to AS9100 standard.
• Participate in AS9100 certification and customer audits where applicable.
• Supervise and train inspectors to be proficient in quality skills.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 5+ years as a Quality Engineer in the Aerospace industry
• Background in CNC Machining and Molding manufacturing
• AS9100 D Internal Auditor certification preferred
• Understand and apply statistical techniques to process improvement.
• Proficient with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing per ANSI Y14.5 (GD&T).
• Proficient in Blueprint Reading.
• Understand inspection sampling methods.
• Understand the application of Lean tools (5S, Kaizen, etc.).
• Experience with DISCUS program - preferred
