Epitec is looking for a detail‑oriented, proactive STA Launch Engineer to lead new tooled part industrialization, supplier readiness, and flawless launch execution for the largest U.S. automaker in Brook Park, OH.

About the Role

In this high‑visibility role, you’ll be responsible for successfully delivering externally sourced new tooled parts from concept through launch. You’ll serve as the key bridge between suppliers, purchasing, STA, program teams, and product development—ensuring timing, quality, and launch readiness across the board.

New Tooled End Item (NTEI) Management
  • Identify NTEIs, including directed tier 2 and MPA suppliers.
  • Develop and maintain detailed NTEI files.
  • Load, manage, and update program data within eAPQP (including design changes, late starters, and VPP updates).
  • Obtain site codes and initiate Schedule A submission requests.
Supplier Readiness & APQP/PPAP
  • Train suppliers and internal teams on APQP/PPAP and the Supplier Engagement Process.
  • Track PPAP and Schedule A submissions; maintain readiness dashboards.
  • Drive resolution of YELLOW/RED deliverables; ensure on‑time Phase PPAP approvals.
  • Lead OTG (Open‑to‑Go) reviews and proactively upscale launch risks; communicate PSW status.
Cross‑Functional Leadership
  • Prepare standard documents for Milestone Reviews, SARs, and NML assessments.
  • Organize and lead cross‑functional PPAP issue‑resolution meetings.
Quality & Issue Resolution
  • Support key launch events (DCV, PCF/TCB builds, VOCF, Craftsmanship, R202, Hard Rocks, Shortage meetings, White Board reviews).
  • Drive resolution of supplier quality issues via AIMS, including containment, 8D, ICA/PCA follow‑up.
  • Support Part Pedigree meetings and readiness assessments before builds.
  • Lead priority supplier selection using GPDS Priority and Supplier Champion filters.
  • Facilitate alignment with PD, Purchasing, and Site STA.
  • Manage and track on‑time completion of GPDS priority supplier team evaluations.
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline (or equivalent technical/manufacturing aptitude).
  • Strong understanding of APQP, PPAP, and STA quality tools.
  • Knowledge of new model launch systems and processes.
  • Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and cross‑functional leadership skills.
Preferred
  • Prior STA, supplier quality, or automotive launch experience.
  • Travel: 10–15%
  • Focus: Deliver high‑quality, externally sourced new tooled parts for major vehicle and powertrain programs
