Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of quality engineering experience in manufacturing.
  • Experience with high-rel iable electromechanical or electronic assemblies in regulated industries.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Experience with root cause investigations (8D, Fishbone, 5 Why).

Responsibilities

  • Partner with manufacturing and inspection teams to resolve production-quality issues.
  • Lead investigations into customer and internal quality concerns with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Review contracts and technical documents to ensure quality and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Develop and maintain quality plans, inspection plans, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Act as primary contact for customers, suppliers, auditors, and regulators.
  • Lead or participate in failure analysis and corrective action activities.
  • Conduct internal quality system and process audits.
  • Review and approve First Article Inspection Reports (AS9102).
  • Analyze quality and operational metrics to identify trends and drive improvements.
  • Support new product introductions and production readiness.

This position will drive continuous improvement initiatives, support quality system compliance, investigate quality concerns, and contribute to the successful launch of new products.

Description
  • Partner with manufacturing and inspection teams to identify and resolve production-related quality issues.
  • Lead investigations into customer and internal quality concerns through root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
  • Review contracts, purchase orders, and technical documentation to ensure all quality and regulatory requirements are incorporated into operations.
  • Develop and maintain quality plans, inspection plans, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for customers, suppliers, auditors, and regulatory representatives.
  • Support supplier quality initiatives and collaborate on issue resolution when required.
  • Lead or participate in failure analysis investigations and corrective action activities.
  • Conduct internal quality system and process audits to ensure compliance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Review and approve First Article Inspection Reports (AS9102).
  • Analyse quality and operational metrics, identify trends, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support new product introductions and production readiness activities.
Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of quality engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting high-reliability electromechanical or electronic assemblies, ideally within aerospace, defence, or similarly regulated industries.
  • Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting root cause investigations using methodologies such as 8D, Fishbone, and 5 Why Analysis.
  • Hands-on knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies including Lean, Kaizen, and Six Sigma principles.
  • Understanding of AS9102 First Article Inspection processes and documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications
  • AS9100 Lead Auditor certification.
  • J-STD-001 and/or IPC-A-610 certification, with trainer certification considered a strong advantage.
  • Experience supporting aerospace, defence, or other highly regulated manufacturing sectors.
