Job summary

Malone Workforce Solutions is partnering with an automotive client in the Bardstown/Louisville area to hire a Quality Engineer for an in-office role. You will ensure customer requirements and product quality are met, and support PPAP, Control Plan, and FMEA activities, interfacing with plant personnel at all levels.

The position requires living in the Louisville or Bardstown area with no relocation and no sponsorship.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a manufacturing environment in a Quality Engineering role.
• Knowledge of customer quality requirements (Ford, GM, Volvo).
• Experience writing process documents (work instructions, procedures).
• Experience preparing PPAP packages.
• Experience writing and verifying procedures and work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate cross-functional meetings to address concerns.
• Interface with quality supervisors to ensure checks address key product characteristics.
• Support corrective actions with on-time closures and root‑cause analysis.
• Meet customer targets.
• Support the quality dimensional team to ensure dimensional stability per customer requirements (mean shifts and SPC data).
• Make decisions to meet customer and management directives.
• Understand fixture design concepts and use basic metrology equipment.
• Ensure manufacturing countermeasures are implemented and effective.
• Handle RMA's, quality alerts, PDCA, and on-time corrective actions.
• Provide customer-specific updates.

Job description

We are working with an automotive client in the Bardstown area who is seeking a Quality Engineer to join their team. The Quality Engineer will work with all levels of plant personnel to ensure customer requirements and product quality are met. Prepare documentation and provide support for new program part launches and process changes including PPAP, Control Plan, FMEA, etc. Interface with all aspects of the plant to ensure product quality is being met. This is a direct hire position that would be in office 5 days a week. No sponsorship is available. No B2C/C2C. Must live in the Louisville or Bardstown area. No relocation available.

Duties

• Schedule, coordinate and report in cross-functional meetings to address internal and external concerns.
• Interface with quality supervisors to ensure all quality checks are addressing the key characteristics of the product.
• Support in all aspects of corrective actions (on time closures, repeat concerns, root cause, etc).
• Responsible for meeting customer targets.
• Support quality dimensional team to ensure dimensional stability being met as per customer requirements. Mean shifts and SPC data.
• Make decisions and advise on an on-going basis to insure customer and management directives are met.
• Competent understanding of fixture design concepts and ability to use basic metrology equipment.
• Ensure manufacturing counter measures are implemented and effective.
• RMA's, quality alerts, PDCA, on time completion of corrective actions.
• Customer specific updates.
