Job description

Location: Anniston, AL Employment Type: Contract Pay Range: $31.25/hour

About the Role

Support a low-rate, high-complexity military vehicle manufacturing program as a Quality Engineer. You will develop, implement, and maintain quality evaluation and control systems across multiple assembly stages, working closely with production and cross-functional teams to investigate and resolve quality issues. This role focuses on continuous improvement, data analysis, corrective actions, and ensuring conformance to technical specifications and customer requirements.

What You Will Do
  • Develop and modify quality control protocols for in-process, partially finished, and finished tracked vehicle products.
  • Validate processes, procedures, parts, and final vehicles to ensure conformance to engineering specifications and customer requirements.
  • Monitor quality data and Pareto charts to identify defect trends and nonconformities.
  • Present quality findings to leadership and support corrective and preventive actions.
  • Coordinate and lead cross-functional teams to resolve production bottlenecks and quality escapes.
  • Investigate, document, and resolve complex quality issues within military vehicle manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure manufacturing activities align with ISO 9001 quality management standards and internal quality requirements.
What You Bring to the Table
  • Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of relevant quality engineering experience
  • or Associate’s degree with 4+ years of relevant quality engineering experience
  • or High school diploma with 8+ years of relevant experience, including leadership or supervisory experience
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing, production, assembly, or automotive environment, preferably involving low-rate, high-complexity assemblies.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining quality control protocols within an ISO 9001-certified environment.
  • Strong understanding of Quality Assurance and Quality Control principles.
  • Experience with root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques in low-rate production environments.
  • Experience using Pareto charts and other data analysis tools to identify defect trends and implement corrective actions.
  • Ability to interpret engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and engineering specifications.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
What Sets You Apart
  • Formal training or certification in Root Cause Analysis (RCA), 5-Why, Fishbone (Ishikawa), or 8D methodology.
  • Experience developing and maintaining PFMEA and PQCT documentation.
  • GD&T experience.
  • Experience developing inspection programs using portable metrology equipment such as Faro arms or laser trackers.
  • Experience with ORACLE MRP systems and TIPQA.
  • Experience performing ISO internal audits and Layered Process Audits (LPA).
  • Experience leading Cross-Functional Team (CFT) meetings to close audit findings.
  • Experience developing and refining detailed work instructions for complex assembly processes.
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to work effectively with both shop-floor personnel and leadership to communicate technical quality issues.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams to resolve production issues and quality escapes.
