Actalent is seeking a Quality Engineer II for an onsite contract-to-hire role in Ann Arbor, MI, focused on advanced lithium-ion battery systems and energy storage. You will drive quality execution, resolve product and process issues, and collaborate across Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams to ensure manufacturing excellence.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and at least 3 years of manufacturing-quality experience, with strong root-cause, PFMEA, and SPC

• Minimum 3 years of Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience leading corrective actions and root cause investigations.
• Proficiency with PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, and manufacturing quality systems.

• Address manufacturing quality issues related to process variation, capability, materials, and tolerancing.
• Drive root cause investigations and corrective actions using 8D and other structured problem-solving methodologies.
• Lead containment activities and risk mitigation efforts to protect customers and operations.
• Support pre-launch builds, production trials, and manufacturing readiness activities.
• Own and maintain Control Plans, PFMEAs, and quality documentation.
• Perform process capability studies, SPC analysis, and quality data analysis.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to improve process capability and reduce quality risks.
• Review and analyze manufacturing quality trends and implement corrective actions.
• Support supplier quality escalation activities as needed.
• Mentor junior quality personnel and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety requirements, and operational procedures.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ann Arbor, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $48.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
