Job summary

The Timken Company is hiring a Quality Development Engineer in Wadsworth, OH. This full-time, salaried position focuses on driving operational excellence by leading root-cause problem solving for non-conforming material and quality issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve processes and reliability.

The role requires an Associate’s degree or ASQ CQE, metrology experience, and proficiency with QA systems (QIM, Windchill, SAP).

Qualifications

• Associate degree or ASQ CQE certification.
• Experience with basic metrology tools (calipers, micrometers) and advanced metrology tools (Bridge, Arm CMMs) including GDT standards.
• Experience with internal auditing processes; ability to work in database systems (QIM, Windchill, SAP).
• Proficient with MS Office applications (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word); strong geometry and statistics skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead root cause problem solving for non-conforming material and quality events.
• Support investigations of assembly production issues from customer, supplier, or internal QIM events.
• Perform final and incoming inspection; assist with Rover Arm/CMM inspections as needed.
• Support gage calibration software and internal ISO 9001:2015 audits.
• Complete PPAP/FAIR/CoC events in QIM for new product deployment and Safe Launch.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and CI Engineering to drive continuous improvement.
