Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Director, the Data Coordinator is responsible for concurrent and retrospective data collection, entry, and analysis to support staff peer review activities. The role also involves ongoing communication with emergency department and hospital staff to clarify and augment data collected through chart review.

Essential Functions
  1. Coordinate medical staff Peer Review activities.
  2. Communicate effectively with hospital and medical staff to ensure data collection is accurate and efficient.
  3. Perform data entry and assist in compiling physician profile data for reappointment processes.
  4. Communicate with external agencies regarding data submissions as needed.
  5. Analyze data by producing tables or graphics, identify trends or issues, and refer findings to the appropriate individuals or committees.
  6. Handle highly sensitive and confidential information routinely.
  7. Coordinate designated Medical Staff and hospital committees.
  8. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  9. Require critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently.
  10. Capable of working effectively in stressful environments and taking appropriate actions.
Education
  • Associate Degree or at least 10 years of healthcare experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Medical Assistant certification preferred.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school with an active registered nurse license preferred.
Licenses/Certifications
  • Maintain current licensure or registration if licensed or registered.
Experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive healthcare experience, including at least two (2) years in an emergency department setting, preferred.
