Job summary

Sundt Construction is seeking a Quality Coordinator to support its quality management on construction projects. You will coordinate QA/QC activities, maintain documentation, and assist with inspections to ensure compliance with contracts, codes, and specifications.

This role emphasizes collaboration with field engineers and subcontractors; you will manage ITPs, NCRs, CARs, and audits, while contributing to ISO 9001 alignment and project closeout.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in construction management, engineering, or quality preferred.
• 2–4 years of experience in a construction, engineering, or industrial environment.
• Familiarity with quality processes, inspection documentation, and construction drawings.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and record‑keeping accuracy.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and quality/document management platforms such as BIM 360, SharePoint, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and organize quality records, including Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), test results, nonconformance reports (NCRs), corrective action reports (CARs), and material certifications.
• Assist in preparing and updating Quality Control Plans (QCPs), method statements, and project submittals.
• Support digital record‑keeping systems and ensure version control and traceability of quality documents.
• Coordinate with field engineers, quality inspectors, and subcontractors to ensure timely inspections and compliance with quality requirements.
• Assist in tracking open quality issues, punch list items, and resolution of NCRs.
• Attend pre‑activity meetings, toolbox talks, and quality walkdowns to support field execution.
• Help schedule inspections and testing with internal teams, third‑party agencies, and client representatives.
• Compile inspection reports and input data into quality tracking systems.
• Prepare daily and weekly quality summary reports for the project team and quality leadership.
• Support internal and external audit preparation and follow‑up.
• Assist in tracking and closing out audit findings and compliance actions.
• Ensure quality activities are aligned with company policies, ISO 9001, and project‑specific requirements.
• Facilitate communication between the field and office teams to resolve quality‑related concerns and document requirements.

Job Summary

The Quality Coordinator provides essential support to the quality management team by coordinating quality assurance and quality control activities, maintaining documentation, and assisting with inspections and compliance efforts. This role plays a key part in ensuring that construction or fabrication work meets contractual, code, and specification requirements by supporting field operations, documentation control, and audit readiness.

Preferred Qualifications

• Analytical Skills: Mid‑level to advanced Excel skills for data manipulation and reporting automation. Prior Quality Control Inspection experience is a plus but not required.

Additional Key Responsibilities

• Documentation Lifecycle: Receive, consolidate, and organize quality related project data and documentation throughout construction and commissioning completions.
• Progress Reporting: Develop and maintain project‑standard reporting templates to effectively communicate construction and commissioning progress.
• Turnover Management: Lead the organization of non‑commissionable construction turnover documents and execute progressive data updates.
• Data Migration & Closeout: Work with the client, quality control, and commissioning teams to help facilitate the comprehensive migration of Turnover/Hand‑Over data from Sundt systems to our CCMS to ensure seamless project closeout.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to steel‑toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.).
• May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.
• May stoop, kneel, or bend on an occasional basis.
• May use telephone, computer system, email, or other electronic devices to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors.
• Must comply with all safety standards and procedures.
• Occasionally will climb stairs, ladders, etc.
• Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis.
• Will interact with people frequently during a shift/workday.
• Will lift, push or pull objects up to 50 lbs on an occasional basis.
• Will sit, stand or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift/workday.
• Will work various shifts, including swing, night and weekend.
