Harbor Point Behavioral Health Center in Portsmouth, VA, seeks a detail‑oriented professional to ensure clinical notes and patient care documentation meet licensing and accreditation standards.
The role involves auditing records, generating reports, coordinating with medical staff, and supporting billing and compliance activities. Experience in medical records and knowledge of DMAS, CMS, and Joint Commission regulations preferred.
Harbor Point Behavioral Health Center offers intensive residential treatment services within a secure setting. Our programs are designed to meet the needs of youth ages 7-17 who are experiencing emotional, psychiatric and educational difficulties. In addition to our general psychiatric programs, we also offer specialty programs for youth with more serious challenges. Harbor Point and its programs are fully accredited by The Joint Commission and the Virginia Association of Independent Specialized Educational Facilities. We are licensed by The Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services and the Virginia Department of Education. We are a TRICARE®-approved and certified facility.
Responsible for ensuring the content of clinical notes pertaining to patient care, treatment and services is in compliance with all licensing, DMAS and Joint Commission regulations.
An individual must be able to perform each essential function of the job satisfactorily. Must be detail-oriented and possess superior documentation skills; have an understanding of DMAS regulations as they relate to Psychiatric Residential Services, as well as CMS and Joint Commission regulations.

Bachelor's degree in Human Services field preferred; minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
